I was talking to Steve Broomhead (dick) on Thursday and he was sat with Ferguson at those hall of fame awards in Liverpool

and he was saying that a bloke on there table was a big red and asked Ferguson about us...

he didnt say anything astounding, but said he thought we would challenge this year as we are stronger, Keane is a good signing, rates Skrtel..........Gets on with Rafa, and thinks he is a great manager blah blah

the one thing he said was that it would be important that Gerrard, Reina and Torres remain fit......as we may struggle without them,,.,,and apparantly he laughed and said "obv it doesnt matter agains us"...which i found quite funny!

The lad then asked about Torres and wether he could have signed him, and he said whilst no formal offer was made two summers ago, they were close to doing a deal with Atletico and were going to be given permission to speak to him....but that something at the back of his mind thought he may not adapt to the Premier league and life in England......He admitted it was a huge blunder, and that him and Rooney would be the the best strike partnership in Europe...but its history and we have him, and thats life...but he is "a magnificent footballer and a nice boy"

fair play to him

also, another story from the night...we have a mate who is a Liverpool fan who goes a good proportion of the game, but I always have a go at him cause to me he plays at it (cue super fan blah blah), however his list of "crimes" is damning...

he left the 2003 Worthington Cup Final v the Mancs with 2 minutes to go "to beat the traffic"

HE had a ticket for Istanbul but then (after getting the ticket) booked a holiday with his bird and didnt go....His holiday was in Turkey

He didnt watch the 2006 FA Cup Final as he was doing a car rally...

i digress....he apparantly went up to Evertons greatest ever goalkeeper and said

"Hello...can I have your autograph, Mr Southgate"

I like and admire Alex Ferguson.

There, I've said it.

You like Alex Ferguson?

O... K...

I think he's done more to harm the game than any manager before or since. His utter lack of grace, his bitterness, whining and continual manipulation of the press and media is (and was years ago) beyond a joke and he almost single-handedly runs the F.A. as evidenced by calling the chief of referees a cheat - when his club doesn't get their first decision in 10 years.

A joke of a man.

The man's a living legend Andy. I've come to admire him. If he'd been ours we'd have worshipped him.

Hope Rafa knocks them off their f***ing perch.

he does what he does to get an edge, and he is good at it

if you cannot admire what he is acieved, it says much more about you than him, Andy

He does now but he once said coming to Anfield made him feel physically sick. I think the dignity and all-round niceness of first Gerard Houlier and now Rafa Benitez has a lot to do with his change of heart.

i disagree...his comment was "you go away from here choking on your own vomit"

He hates us, but respects us and that drives his hate (if you get me)

maybe jealousy is a better word

Behave yourself Andy. He's a leader of men, and a fantastic manager. He's passionate about his cause and will let nothing get in the way of his protecting his own. Dare I say it, but he's got so much in common with Shankly it's unbelievable. I'd have Ferguson at the helm at Anfield tomorrow.

Also, whilst he remains at Man Utd, I hope he dies of a heart attack really soon. Although I hope it doesn't hurt him too much.

Amen to all that.

It makes me laugh when you hear their fans criticise him every now and again. Are they insane? The man is above reproach, if you're a fan of his club.

He's a c*** by association with United

I'm sure plenty of Mancs respect Rafa, but he's a c*** by association with Liverpool. It's the way football fans work

Cannae argue with his record and what he has achieved.

I cannot admire him because of the way he has achieved it. I also cannot accept he is the best manager in history because if you compare what he won against others and then compare the time it took - compared to the time other managers had - then it would be hard to see how if someone got past that first spell (Where he was nearly out of the door) then pretty much any of the top managers would have done as much if not more.

For instance, his record in Europe given the money he has had, the pure luck of getting 7 youth players come through all at the same(ish) time (Never been done since by the Mancs or anyone else) is utterly abysmal.

He is bitter, moaning, crying, backstabbing, ungracious, arrogant, underhanded, untruthful and generally obnoxious.

It really staggers me to think (as was said before) some would 'like' this buffoon to manager our club.

Compared to him Martin O'Neill is a nice fella.

1. I dont think he is the best manager ever

2. you are an idiot if you really think you can justify deriding his achievments

3. I like you Andy, but when it comes to United and Ferguson you are ridiculous

If you hate Man United, your reasons don't have to make sense. They are justified for whatever reason

the fact is that as a Liverpool fan, we are brought up to detest them, of course

however there is a difference between that trying to deride there (or his achievments)..You cant they are there...fact

when people like Andy start tirades about United, it just sounds so ridiculous and pathetic it is untrue

I`m not sure T.Sorensen would agree with that.

Ferguson is a c*** though.
