Hello,

I’m a student currently studying Geography at Newcastle University. I’m conducting some research for my dissertation on the globalisation of the Premier League, and the subsequent changes that have occurre in relation to this process. I’m particularly interested in how local fans have experienced and reacted to these changes.

I would be grateful if you could spare the time to answer some of these questions to help with this research. If you can help could you pm me the answers.

Cheers

Dan

1.What team do you support?

2.On average how many games do you attend each year, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40-40-50, 50-60?

3.Where do you currently live?

4. What is your current occupation?

5.During the past 10 years have you noticed significant changes to the club’s fabric that have taken place? For example, Spectatorship, Club’s Structure, Your Match-Day Experience etc ?

6. If so, could you give some insight into the nature of these changes and any responses to this change that have begun to occur within the fan base?

7. What are your opinions on this change?

8.Has your match-day routine changed in any way as a result of any changes that may have occurred?

9. Are there any fan groups that are associated with addressing these changes?

10. Would you be prepared to take part in some further research beyond this short set of questions?

OOT's are bad, the innocent locals don't have a fair chance to get tickets.

I'd have to be sure you are actually a student at Newcastle University and the questionnaire is for genuine research purposes. Might sound petty but you could be on a wind up for all I know.

No offence, its probably genuine research but the internet is full of oddballs.

To the original poster -

If you're serious about this, then get people to e-mail you through the site if they're willing to take part. One of the key points about research, is that it should be confidential. If you want people's honest views, you need to ensure confidentiality (or people may start writing what they think other forum posters want to read, not what they actually believe).

also, for the 2nd question, you may want to include the option on "none" - since you are talking about globalisation, part of this is that LFC (and internet forums) have fans from all over the world, many of whom can't get to games.

Obviously a wind up.

My f*cking email at work used to get this kind of 'help me with my research' post at the beginning of every term - tons of the buugers. The email equivalent of being stopped in the street by students doing commissioned charity stuff.
