I found this fascinating. The perception is that Torres is our winner although the season long table only has him in 3rd place, behind the Captain. I believe that we tend to forget what has gone on in the past, and focus on the last 10 games or so...in which case Torres has set a new Premiership foreigner's scoring record etc... Also, Pepe Reina picked up a few votes in this thread since it has been noted he has won the Golden gloves for the third time in a row.

 

Mascher is therefore our winner, and in my opinion rightly so. His harrying performances in the centre of midfield have singled him out for special praise from the Kop choir this year...in a year where Xabi has been under-par for most of it, and Gerrard has been more free to roam forward...

Thanks for the results Morsest. I think that if Torres had not missed a few games between mid Sept & mid Nov then he would have picked up a couple more points to take the No. 1 nomination.

 

Taking nothing away from Masch, he has been the model of consistency all season and probably got in the top 3 in 90% of our games this season
