Just heard on talks**** that Kewell will be allowed to leave and offers are being taken for Riise. Thank Feck for that!

How will we replace Kewell?

2 Physio's will be let go.

Apparently Kewell was offered a new contract on reduced wages, however his agent declined. You'd think he'd be grateful about being offered anything considering how little he has done in the past 2 seasons at least.

A shame really could've been a great player for us, showed flashes in his first few months at the club, in 2005-06 he was excellent and his first couple of games back this season he showed promise- however he has got to be the biggest let down signing in recent years

I'm f***ing astounded that Rafa offered him another contract. What the f*** is up with him? He's losing it. Losing faith in him by the day. Utterly bizarre his behaviour the last few weeks.

How does Kewell leaving show how tight money is?

We're trying to save on the money needed to replace him. As a guess

Edit. What i meant originally is the fact we offered him a new deal shows that

i agree with you it's slightly mental to be offering Kewell a new contract but you'll have to explain the rest to me lar!

There a few things you need to remember:

1. Kewell is a quality player that has been injured for four seasons.

2. When he was fleetingly 'fit' Rafa played him at almost opportunity.

3. When fit he was the best option we had in that position up to this season and if fully fit he would have played a majority of games this season.

4. The Rafa loosing it is total schite.

My opinion on Kewell has always been that if he got a season of full fitness under his belt he could be back to being one of the best players in the league. At the moment, it is pretty obvious that thats not going to happen, so getting rid of a 100k p/w salary seems like the logical thing to do regardless of any hypothetical purse string tightening.

However, if he was to accept a short-term renegotiated deal assuming LFC know more about his fitness than I, then surely it would be a good deal for everyone? Simple economics IMO.

I disagree. I think it shows a lack of patience on Rafa's part - he's not prepared to carry on paying him huge wages just for him to play the odd international and cup final

Wouldn't surprise me if it the offer was heavily weighted towards appearances

Imagine the player's response if he'd offered Robbie a reduced-money deal...

5. We offered him 50p for 5 years

Dale Winton and Graham Norton combined are less hysterical than you.

The lad has hardly kicked a f***ing ball for Rafa in 4 years and yet he's offering him a new contract? Sorry, that is absolutely mental. Can't think of a single fan that has said anything other than that Harry has to go. Not a single one. Rafa thinks its a good idea though. Maddening.

So fans know everything, Rafa knows nothing. Ok. I'm a fan btw - if he could get him to agree to a reduced salary I wouldn't have a problem.
