Anybody have any idea how Nabil el Zhar is doing? Seemed to be among the leaders of the pack for the reserves-to-1st team jump (played and scored in the CC against Cardiff), but lately it's gone completely quiet. I know he's not playing for the ressies, can't seem to find any mention of an injury anywhere, anyone have an idea what's going on?

Will never make it in my opinion...

I agree with that. Allbeit based on watching a limited amount of reserves games, but while some players - Nemeth being a very good example - can quickly give you an indication that they have a bright future, I've never felt that way about El Zhar. Decent amount of skill, but little end product.

I don't think he'll make it either.

I got pilloried for saying so after his Carling Cup debut though. Quite simply I just don't think he's fast enough to make it as a Premier League winger, not even close.

You have to be an incredibly talented footballer to make it as an attacking player in this league now without serious pace. The full backs are just too quick and athletic to allow a trick here and there to beat them.

Is it him scoring the 3rd Moroccan goal? It looks a bit like him... Good finish whoever it was.

Yes, that's him.

Alvaro Arbeloa made his debut for Spain when he came on as a second half substitute during a 1-0 win over Italy, while Nabil El Zhar scored on his international bow for Morocco.

Arbeloa came on as a 73rd minute substitute for Sergio Ramos in a match which also saw Fernando Torres come through 49 minutes unscathed.

Xabi Alonso also got a run out when he came on as a 58th minute replacement for Marcos Da Silva. Pepe Reina was an unused sub.

El Zhar, meanwhile, played the second half of Morocco's 4-1 win over Belgium in Brussels, scoring in the 85th minute.

That's to be their third or fourth version! Checked that news on two other occasions today and nothing about El Zhar then. Liverpoolfc.tv have made several updates.
