I feel this would send a message out, which might even make people at Virgin and Murdoch sit up and take notice - it would send a message to the whole Premier League. It would get press coverage all over the world and make a real point.

I propose that as many of us as possible all cancel subscriptions to either Sky Sports or all Satellite television subscriptions as possible. I propose we all do this in a co-ordinated manner, over a period of between two to seven days, to send the strongest possible message.

I am asking for peoples opinions on :

i) whether it is worth considering;

ii) when this would be;

iii) whether we make it permanent or just for a set number of months.

While I have had the idea, I am happy to either run with it and co-ordinate it or to hand it over to one the established groups who have already started, from the Sandon Meetings.

The only way a good proportion of Liverpool fans can watch Liverpool is on tele.

Should we deny them that right?, I think not.

As much as I think it would be a good idea I wouldn't force the issue.

The thing is Ant, thats what Hicks is counting on and what all entire money making strategy at LFC is based upon.

It wouldn't hurt support for the team at the ground and would send a strong message.

I understand its the only way lots of folk can watch and thats why one of the topics for consideration is how long to propse the cancellation for.

Why are we making a point to Sky and Virgin exactly?

if our subscription's went directly to Hicks/the club, I could see some mileage in this. Unfortunately I dont think it would have any effect on the texan t***.

That said, if done en masse in large enough numbers it could have a significant PR effect, not sure how effective it would be in getting shut of the c***, but if coordinated well it could be good PR.

Agree with that.

You lose the sympathy of the mainsteam media and the game is pretty much up to be honest. I think we currently have the mainstream media on our side but it is always important to remember that they aren't the most radical bunch and anything that seems too militant will be used against us. You have to at least appear reasonable.

And right now we've a lot of backing.

Exactly - you have done a cracking job in spreading the word and making it seem reasonable and rational.

Although i'm all in favour of boycotting Sky, the reason is i hate Rupert Murdoch and i've always thought Sky don't miss an opportunity to post us in a bad light.

However, i dont see any relation between getting rid of the owners and boycotting Sky.

If you are willing to cancel your subscriptions then you have to explain why you are cancelling of course but as for me, I'm just not going to cancel mine. if things get worse then I would reconsider but now that it looks like things might be settling down then Im going to try and enjoy watching the team.

Dumbest idea ever.

Next... let's stop buying Sausage Rolls at Greggs!

My daughter would kill in cold blood anyone who promulgated that idea - and rightly so!
