Puskas Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 The reserves beat Man City 3:2 on Tuesday and young Kristian Nemeth scored two on his reserves debut. He could have had a hat trick - he hit a post and missed a one-on-one - and showed some very neat touches. A very promising start from the 18 year old. He kind of reminds me of someone in the way he plays, although I will leave that comparison for later (let's not apply too much hype yet!). Another of our Hungarian prospects - Peter Gulacsi - also played his first game for the reserves in goal and also did pretty well (he wasn't to blame for either goal conceded at least!). The highlights are available if you have a season ticket on liverpoolfc.tv. Nemeth is pronounced 'Naymet' and Gulacsi is pronounced 'Goolachi' - just a note for the liverpoolfc.tv commentators

Eskimo Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 its not the former boro striker is it? The fact that he's only 18 didn't give you a clue...
KD07 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 its not the former boro striker is it? It is. He looked rather strapping for a 12 year old when he stepped out for them didn't he.
RafaShanks Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Pacheco came on and looked class yet again. From what everyone has seen, is he good enough to challenge our squad?
alias75 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 From what everyone has seen, is he good enough to challenge our squad? Not seen a lot but i don't think hes ready yet, still very young (only 16 i think) but he also reminds me of another young striker we had that made an impact at 17 years of age. (Guess thats 2 of them!) From what ive seen though he has lots of talent, very pacy, very tricky and knows how to finish. Hes pretty small though and i think he needs to develop physically more, but the signs are very good.
honourablegeorge Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 These kids wil have to play first team sooner rather than later though - they learn a million times faster in the first team - look at Fabregas, Owen, the youngsters at Barca, etc - if they're good enough, they have to go in the team.
Eskimo Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 From what everyone has seen, is he good enough to challenge our squad? Nowhere near that sort of level yet. He's only played a handful of reserve games and even then its usually as a sub for the last 10-20mins.

New York Red Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 You're only talking him up because you're Hungarian. Admit it.
Puskas Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 You're only talking him up because you're Hungarian. Admit it. I'm just an honorary Hungarian, I only live here But yes, I admit I am very interested in seeing how the Hungarian youngsters get on.
