Player Support for Rafa?

Obviously the best way for the players to keep Rafa in a job would be to do the business on the pitch but how far can they push it in terms of media soundbites in support of Rafa. You see it happening at International level e.g.when McClaren was under pressure, the players were saying that they were backing their coach.

We're obviously supporting Rafa and criticising Parry and G&H for their deafening silence but what about the players???

I don't want to hear the sort of support that Mcclaren got. That's is support for the sake of soundbites for the media, to get 'em through the next game, till he got sacked.

The players cant' say much, and I didn't expect them to, cos of this big game tonight. No reason for them to be giving many interviews.

Best thing is to do what they did at Newcastle, play great, and put in one heck of an effort for the team and boss.

I read in yesterday's Daily Hate Mail (it was the only english paper available on the flight, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) that Mascherano has indicated that he's not interested in signing a permanent deal at Anfield until he's been given assurances that Benitez will be the manager.

Good lad (if true).
