1525: GOAL Wales 1-0 Republic of Ireland

Joe Ledley spins away from Steve Finnan on the right, cuts back onto his right foot and delivers an inch-perfect cross for Jason Koumas to head home. A brilliantly-worked goal from Wales.

Looking forward to Latvia V Lichtenstein.

Andorra - Estonia could be a classic.

If Norway win we are ready for Euro 2008, if we draw we are almost ready as well since we have Malta in our last match.

1533: GOAL Wales 1-1 Republic of Ireland

Simple but effective. Kevin Doyle slides the ball through for Robbie Keane, who waits for the keeper to commit himself before coolly lifting the ball over him. Classy finish from the Spurs man.

dont see the problem, he needs games to get match fit, a friendly international will probably by ideal for him

I'm sure there were Geordies saying the same last night about a different number 10

What he needs is games for us not the national side.

It seems whenever we get him back from injury the Aussies get the benefit.

Even if he has a blinder, what "benefit" is it to them in a friendly? He'll have another competitive game under his belt.

And if he breaks down injured again in a pointless friendly?

A glorious 2-1 win against mighty Azerbaijan for Roy Hodgson's boys in warm and sunny Helsinki. Our Euro dream lives on. You know you're desperate when you send on a 100 year old (Litmanens injuries have aged him to that at least) to save the day but hey who cares. Kippis

He breaks down in training, sure. He breaks down in reserve matches. He breaks down in Premiership games. He breaks down in European Cup finals. The man's remarkable.

He's unprotectable and this is his last season, probably, to give us a good spell showing us what the world and his mother knows he can do. We just have to go for it and treat him like any other player I suppose.

he'll break down injured anyway if thats the case. i just think in this case, were Kewell desperatly needs games, whether for our stiffs or for Oz in order to get match fit, it's a good solution all round

I can live with that as at least it was with us.

What I can't live with is when he goes off to the world cup, comes back injured and wrongly diagnosed, f*cking up pur season in the process, leading to another lengthy lay off while he gets all his so called problems sorted. As soon as he's back he plays one or two games for us and is off to the Asia Cup, despite clearly not being match fit, and comes back obviously not right, f*cking up our plans yet again.

If he comes back from today injury free and that bit more fitter, great, but I'd rather not take the risk.

You can really feel the tension building for the Scotland game.

Worst possible start for Scotland tho 1-0 down after 90 seconds from a Luca Toni goal.

Oh dear! The quickest deflation of a nation's hopes in the history of the game

Get the f*** in 1-0 Norway, and what a goal by the CB Erik Hagen.

The goal came after a long throw from Riise.
