Guest Ant Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 And how can Rafa not help the Results we are getting and the quality of Football of which we play....
Ostrich Man Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) its you lot..you know the twelfth man..the ones that won the european cup by singing a showtune...youre not putting the effort in anymore. Edited October 24, 2007 by Ostrich Man
Guest Ant Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Funny how those are defending Rafa but have yet to come up with a structured argument to say where it is going wrong? But are much faster to type the following 'YOUR NOT A REAL FAN AND ARE A SHAME TO OUR CLUB' Get Real
alias75 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I think the truth has to be a combination of Rafa and the players, Rafa is making some poor decisions at the moment but too many players are under performing too. I refuse to believe their being coached to play the way they are so on the field the players have the responsibility to go out and play and too many arent up to it at the moment.
Guest spk Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i dont think the decisions are poor, just unpopular. the team picked tonight was a good team. solid midfield, width, pace, etc. the only issue was our weakness at the back wtih sami tired playing so many games of late. im amazed how fickle our fans are sometimes

Stevie H Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 it's sammy lee. good afternoon madam, we can save you four pound a month with EDF.
JGL Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Rafa can't really help that Carra and Finnan suddenly has hit their worst form for years. If you have to blame him for something, blame him for not buying replacement for Sami and JAR during the summer..

Ant - ask him!!! PM or email and I will answer.....but it CANNOT go on a public forum, as it is unfair to the person involved.

downunder Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Those wanting him out have not really come up with a viable alternative though. How would we look if we sacked a manager who was unbeaten in the league and not yet out of any comp?
superledger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 (edited) How would we look if we sacked a manager who was unbeaten in the league and not yet out of any comp? That scenario will probably have changed vastly in a fortnight's time. I think people are pointing to the most ridiculous reasons in order to defend Rafa's shocking leadership of late. Edited October 25, 2007 by superledger
John am Rhein Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 To a large extent it IS Rafa - he's the manager so he's obviously responsible. What's wrong is not criticism of the manager or his decisions and failings. What's wrong is the excessive level to which this is taken : i.e. 'the manager's to blame so get rid of him', the ridiculous level of expectation implicit in much of the criticism, the parochial crap about taking a scouser off in the derby, and so on. The response to events - just like the response to events under Gerard Houllier - would be more appropriate if Liverpool were flirting with relegation than in the position we are: still undefeated in the League and in with a chance of competing for it IF we get our performance level back to where it was not so long ago.
John am Rhein Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 How would we look if we sacked a manager who was unbeaten in the league and not yet out of any comp? like Newcastle
superledger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Fair post but I dont really think that many people are saying 'get rid of him'. I think most people are thinking that something needs to change and wish that Rafa would stop being so pig headed in his decision making that is obviously wrong. What is taken to exces though is the 'we are still unbeaten in the league' excuse. We are unbeaten in the league by pure luck - not due to the qualities of the manager or current form. I dont think the unbeaten record will last long anyway if we keep going as we are going. It probably wont last past Sunday.

And it's not pure luck either - we've had some lucky breaks, but we've also had some bad luck and we've played well some of the time.
superledger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Head up hole. I'll be back to check what your next excuse is when we lose a league match.
Tosh Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I know the exact reason we are playing as we are, but I can't say, Kev has the email. Ant - ask him!!! PM or email and I will answer.....but it CANNOT go on a public forum, as it is unfair to the person involved. Are you Bobwright in disguise?
John am Rhein Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Head up hole. I'll be back to check what your next excuse is when we lose a league match. Why would there be a need for an excuse? As of now, we HAVEN'T LOST A LEAGUE MATCH!
John am Rhein Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I know the exact reason we are playing as we are, but I can't say, Kev has the email. Ant - ask him!!! PM or email and I will answer.....but it CANNOT go on a public forum, as it is unfair to the person involved. So we should feel free to make random guesses? I think it's because a Spanish-speaking clique has been allowed to develop in the squad. How's that?
superledger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Because the 'we havent lost a league match' crap IS an excuse. Whether it's to defend Rafa's madness or to make us feel better about ourselves - I dont know. OK, If we continue on exactly as we currently are we will even finish the season unbeaten. Will you be happy not qualifying for the CL next season just so you can say we finished unbeaten?
John am Rhein Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Because the 'we havent lost a league match' crap IS an excuse. Whether it's to defend Rafa's madness or to make us feel better about ourselves - I dont know. It's not an excuse. It's a fact. There's nothing to excuse. There is no 'Rafa's madness' - you're exaggerating the problems to an absurd degree.
superledger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Perhaps you should just let Rafa c** in your face? Or is that why you are already blind to what is happening? Yes, us being unbeaten is a fact. A glossing over the truth fact though.
