RafaShanks Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 If everyone is fully fit? I'll start the ball rolling: ---------------Reina--------------Finnan---Agger---Carra---ArbeloaYossi----Stevie---Xabi/Masch---Babel---------Crouch------Torres------- Back five picks itself. So does the strikers, as they are the most effective of what we have. Midfield dependant on opposition.

Benzo-13 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 ReinaFinnan Carra Agger Riise Mascherano Alonso Gerrard Kewell Voronin Torres With you except Aurelio for Riise and Kuyt for Voronin.
Gunga Din Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i honestly have no idea anymore. id like to see us try ReinaFinnan Agger Carra ArbeloaGerrard Alonso Lucas Kewell (when fit)Torres Crouch if Kewell wasnt fit i'd try Babel out there, or perhaps Riise. our left side of midfield is a weak spot for us

Gunga Din Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i'd put this to you all as well. is our best 11 now, better than our best 11 when Houllier was here?
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I still feel Kewell will have a big say this season.

Lucas Crouch Kewell Xabi Arbelo Agger - all havent really played recently, so have you just made a team out of players who cant possibly be linked to the recent shambles
CaptainXabi Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i'd put this to you all as well. is our best 11 now, better than our best 11 when Houllier was here?Definitely. No doubt about it. However, our current level of belief is approaching a 5-6 year low, if it hasn't gotten there already.

Lucas Crouch Kewell Xabi Arbelo Agger - all havent really played recently, so have you just made a team out of players who cant possibly be linked to the recent shambles no, i'm picking what i genuinely believe would be our best 11, players who compliment the players around them, players who can pass a ball, and players with a bit of pace
Benzo-13 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i'd put this to you all as well. is our best 11 now, better than our best 11 when Houllier was here? Miles better talent wise.. GH left us with sh**e like Murphy, Diouf, Diao, a void-like Heskey and Cheyrou..
alias75 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Im going to go with.... ............................Reina............................. Finnan..........Carragher....Agger............Arbeloa Gerrard.......Mascherano...Alonso..........Benayoun ..................Torres..........Babel........................ You could go with Kuyt and Torres up front their partnership has looked the best of all our forward combinations this season, away from home id probably go with Kuyt instead, but id like to see how this team plays, you have lots of very good technical players that are comfortable on the ball, with the protection you get from Mascherano and Alonso it allows Gerrard and Benayoun to go create. Obviously we havent seen Babel up front yet but id like to see how he goes.

I'm also intrigued by Torres and Babel up front. I think both a worth a shot, but not at the same time.
Benzo-13 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I still feel Kewell will have a big say this season. We need a player like him, our best season under Rafa was when he was patched up for it!!

Guest Kaizer Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i'd put this to you all as well. is our best 11 now, better than our best 11 when Houllier was here? Yes it is, but not much, Alonso, Reina in particular pushes it in the presnt teams direction, Torres might turn out to be better than Owen as well, but its still early days, apart from that we have not seen much improvement, what we have seen is that we have get rid of players with that little bit of special skill and ability that could turn a game and replaced them with hardworking grafters, IU`m not sure if thats a good thing.
Gunga Din Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Miles better talent wise.. GH left us with sh**e like Murphy, Diouf, Diao, a void-like Heskey and Cheyrou..i know, but i'm talking first 11. Diouf isnt s****, he's just a bell end
Guest Ant Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I actually wonder if Rafa can answer that question

We have Voronin, Kuyt, Torres, Crouch and Babel for the forward line now.. Back then it was Owen (class), Heskey (had become utter sh**e) and Baros (who wasn't pony then). It's incomparable and a rubbish load of tosh to start this as our midfield now destroys that one.
Benzo-13 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i know, but i'm talking first 11. Diouf isnt s****, he's just a bell end Yeah but he was the first No.9 in all of our history to not score in a season and let face it was pretty w**k in his last one.

Cam Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Do I have to have eleven? 'Cos I reckon: Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Gerrard, Alonso & Torres could beat the team we put out tonight.
Knox_Harrington Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 The one I'd like to see is Reina FinnanCarragherAggerAurelio AlonsoMascherano GerrardBenayounKewell Togsylad. Alonso is getting better with every game that passes. Some talked some utter s**** about how bad he was playing on here before his injury. He was and has played well for months. There isn't one footballer we have who can do what he can except possibly the Brazilian player of the year and that's supposition.
