Bootle Buck Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Looked way out of his depth tonight. I can't believe he is one of the best prospect of our youngsters. He looked slow and devoid of any attacking idea. It seems like when any of our youngsters ever get a chance they can't seem to step up.
Guest Lennon Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Why single out the new lads? It's pathetic.
Jim D Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 (edited) Fish out of water, but none of the senior players played well to give him any confidence. Edited October 3, 2007 by Jim D
Sion Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 What annoys me is that surely the local/English lads couldn't have done worse than him tonight, and yet they're unlikely to ever get a chance.
alias75 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 With the players we have in reserve he shouldnt be near the first team, why not play Babel if your not playing Riise? Don't want to judge a player on the back of a few games especially in a new country but let him play in the reserves and get used to things, not a CL game which we need to win. And tonight he was one of 9 poor performances.

Having watched some of his reserve performances he's looked pretty good. Coming into a team lacking in confidence won't help mind..
Maldini Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I don't understand this giddy rush to write a player off after two or three first team performances.
hintez Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I can't believe how almost every pass from Momo went to the other side. Leto wasn't much better.
lfc003 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Poor performance but too be far to him whenever he got the ball there was no movement around him.
realtarragona Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 He shouldn't play for a while again. Another performance like that and fans will turn on him and his confidence will be completely shot.
Guest Snorky Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Not been impressed with him one iota. Spearing deserves a shift more than Leto judging on the reserve performances.
hideNseek Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I don't understand this giddy rush to write a player off after two or three first team performances. True. Though I don't understand why he was playing in front of say Babel.
Guest Snorky Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 True. Though I don't understand why he was playing in front of say Babel. Because it wasn't Babel's turn to play.
Coyler Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 True. Though I don't understand why he was playing in front of say Babel.I thought it was a good match to play him and was sort of looking forward to him playing well. Babel's got a goal, he's shown bits and bobs; Leto hasn't really gotten into it yet. Didn't expect Marseille to come to Anfield and be up to ninety from the very start, or for so many of those around him to play muck. He did have a poor game, though, having said that, God love him.
Kite Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Not been impressed with him one iota. Spearing deserves a shift more than Leto judging on the reserve performances.Spearing doesn't play wide? Thought Leto looked devoid of ideas going forward but lacked the composure (experience?) to stop, turn around, and just simply maintain possession. To me he performs adequately as a defensive minded wide player - why the f*** he was playing tonight therefore I haven't a notion. Rafa seemed to send out the away team tonight, couldn't fathom his selection at all in the upper two thirds of the team.

abc Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 He was so bad Rafa took him off very quickly after the start of the second half. The way he gave the ball away showed he was way out of his depth tonight.

I'd give Spearing a spot on the bench in Europe myself, the lad has it, but in fairness to Leto he was MOTM in his last reserve game and set up two goals, he was the best player on the park by a mile.
