Uefa president Michel Platini has written to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to appeal for his help in safeguarding the future of football.

I know what he's scared of, these new money men coming and actually going for this European Super League bogey man that's been talked up for years. Not sure what he wants from government, some kind of legislation that requires clubs to be run as trusts? He might though have to engage in some alliance building with these Americans and Russians he's openly plotting against.

Platini is fearful for the future of football in Europe

Uefa president Michel Platini has written to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to appeal for his help in safeguarding the future of football.

 

"A serious threat hangs over the development of European football: the malign and ever-present influence of money," wrote Platini in his letter.

Platini doesn't like English clubs who have a nasty habit of winning rather a lot in Europe - particularlt those awful Liverpool people. On the whole, French teams win bugger all. The English game is attracting lots of money which means they are likely to win more still as time goes on. He doesn't whinge about Madrid and their Royal patronage and dodgy fund raising, or Chelsea, upon whose owners yacht he has had the odd pink gin or two. He doesn't like the G14 because they keep loonies like himself and Blatter at arm's length.

 

The best thing I can think of to say about Platini is that Alain Giresse hates him.
