Paul_LFC Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Hopefully the footy injury he suffered today won't be too serious. He sat in the dugout for the rest of the match, instead of going to the dresing room with the physio so fingers crossed.
Guest Sabre Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 He picked it up a bit earlier than Sky spotted it. Tried to run it off but lost mobility
Cliff M Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I thought he was poor today, his passing in particular was woeful.
Herbie von Smalls Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 i reckon if they resurrect 'six feet under', Xabi would make a great long lost fisher brother.
chrisbonnie Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 i didnt see the first half myself, but thought we where utter tripe once he went off hope its not serious
Knox_Harrington Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 i didnt see the first half myself, but thought we where utter tripe once he went off hope its not seriousBoth him and Crouch were poor but the shape worsened when both went off.
Kite Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Even when he isn't on form, Alonso stills brings something to the team, seems to help us keep our discipline or shape, as you say. I thought he was poor yesterday too but we definitely became less effective once he was off the pitch.
Guest sniffer Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 i didnt see the first half myself, but thought we where utter tripe once he went off hope its not serious It was just as bad when he was on. Methinks we need another class midfielder to help him if Gerrard isn't playing and Mascher isn't around. Sissoko is not the answer.
stressederic Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I didn't think Alonso was all that bad yesterday to be honest. Wasn't spectacular but did his job. His freekicks were s*** though.
slapnuts Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 i reckon if they resurrect 'six feet under', Xabi would make a great long lost fisher brother. Nates twin.

Guest Kaizer Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 According to www.liverpool.no both Arbeloa and Finnan struggle with injuries as well before the Porto match and with Riise deffo out we might have a problem at the back I`m not sure if I like the idea of Threllfall or Darby up against Quaresma.

Stevie at right back? or maybe even Carragher?

Momo could play right back, Aurellio has played 45. Not overly concerned about RQ

You'll love it if it happens.
Guest Kaizer Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 whats up with JAR? Out with a groin pull.

Insua is fit, I wouldn't mind Spearing playing at RB and splitting that bottler in two either
Guest Kaizer Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Insua is fit, I wouldn't mind Spearing playing at RB and splitting that bottler in two either Insua is not in our Champions League sqaud.
Cliff M Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I didn't think Alonso was all that bad yesterday to be honest. Wasn't spectacular but did his job. His freekicks were s*** though. That's part of what I was thinking. There's absolutely no excuse for a professional footballer who's been picked to take a free kick or a penalty to miss. Both of Alonsos free kicks which I saw hit the wall...unforgiveable. It's stuff like that which could cost us dear by the end of the season. As a Toon fan said to me the other day "it's yours (the league) to give away". Yesterday we started.

Both of Alonsos free kicks which I saw hit the wall...unforgiveable.Is that meant to be tongue-in-cheek? Alonso was poor yesterday, as he has been in a few games this season and stretching back into last season. I say give Mascherano the starting spot until he has a run of poor form.
Koogan Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Out with a groin pull. Or scared s***less after hearing scary things about this lad Kvaresma.
Guest Kaizer Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Or scared s***less after hearing scary things about this lad Kvaresma. Or maybe out with a groin pull picked up on duty for Norway as have been said.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I thought he did alright. Nothing exceptional, but things ticked reasonably well when he had the ball. The other midfielders didn't seem to be able to do much higher up the pitch on the day though.
