f*** him. He'll realise how much of a mistake he's made when we hammer then 4-0 at the weekend.

Bit cheesed off about these, I was hoping that we would get him, as he seemed to be a player that Rafa rates, but what can you do?

So much for all that s***e that Mourinho was spouting saying how they hadn't spent anything and how the pressure should be on us...

doesn't matter if he's a right back. why should strikers be most expensive?

If he contributes enough to the team, he'll be worth it.

He could be worth his weight in gold...

Hope Real Madrid get him. Think he may still be tempted to stay in Spain, despite what the guardian says

Seeing as Chelsea's full backs seem to have chains round their waste to stop them going past the half way line, unless they play Alves more advanced, there's a good chance they'll ruin one of the best attacking full-back's around.

If he goes, isn't that's two of Rafas first choice targets that choose CFC instead of us (Malouda the other)?

but Liverpool haven't targetted him this summer.

Can't be true. Mourinho says Chelsea won't bid silly money and Alves says he wants to go to a European Giant.

with real madrid signing drenthe and sneijder, you would expect they no longer need Robben. Ergo, we'll see how serious the russian was when he said no more money....

Interesting, that if they sign him, it kills Boringho's argument about pressure and money.

Is Chelsea a European Giant? Giant in what sense? deep pockets, yes! full of european trophies, nope!

Guess Alves referring to deep pockets!!!

Thank f*** for that, means I don't have to listen to people bleating on about how 'Alves would significantly improves us' all the time. £21.5m for a right back is f***ing stupid money. Robben to leave any day for about £25m I reckon.

Seville just announced that chelsea's offer wasn't acceptable with rumours the offer was between £15m-£16m whereas Seville are looking for £21.5m rising to £25m.

good luck to chelsea if they pay over 20 million for Alves. I rate him highly, but for a player who may struggle in the PL (he is fantastic attacking, but think he is a bit suspect defensively) over 20, would be a huge gamble.

not for chelsea, maybe for mourinho though

The thing is, he doesnt seem to be the kind of right back that chelsea would need.

Usually playing a 4-3-3 means that width on the right flank comes from the forwards - previously duff or robben, now swp. Now undoubtedly chelski wants a quick right back to fill in unoccupied space in midfield too, but I dont think he'll get very much license on the ball, with the system Mourinho is running.

Anyways, looks like chelsea is having to go through the same crap that we did - top stuff!

It would be a gamble for chelsea too Hassony mate, because its clear that Abramovich is now starting to want some ROI. Think about it, you cant endlessly sink your own fortune into a club.
