New York Red Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Who might be sold off because they can't afford them? Anyone worth it for us? Bent? Jagielka?
Mondavi Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Who might be sold off because they can't afford them? Anyone worth it for us? Bent? Jagielka? With the 3 clubs mentioned, the thread title should be amended to "average players" to be honest. Can't see any of their players being of interest to us, including the 2 oft-hyped players you mention. Newcastle & West Ham would be likely destinations for those 2, and maybe one or two other cast off's, such as darren ambrose.
Hassony Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Bent might be an option, i think he is a good player who i always liked at ipswich at the england under 21 I doubt we will go for Jagielka now with Lucas coming there isn't really anyone else
The Hitman Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I think Marlon King might end up at a Premiership club.
Stevie H Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 watford will try and keep their squad, particularly king and bouazza.
R A Softlad Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Indeed. They've just extended Boothroyd's contract so they will be looking to bounce straight back and take advantage of this seasons money.
magneto Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Darren Bent is the only player of quality in those teams. Thats why they went down. Jagielka and Tonge have actually stagnated. Tonge was the hottest player a few years ago when Ged was in charge..look at him now! Charlton had a good manager that kept them together (Curbishley), letting him go was the reason they got relegated this season. Sheffield United have that one youngster from the FA Youth cup that we were interested in getting, name escapes me now. Watford, were a load of cr@p from day 1. Ashley Young was their best player and he's hardly set the world alight yet.

Guest PaulMcC Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I'd liek us to sign Darren Bent if we could get him for 10 million.
Hassony Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Charlton should have given Dowie more time.Defo to sack him only to give the job to a clown was very stupid on their part
Guest 70400 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 (edited) why would you want bent? He is average at best -- when you need a class player upfront. Edited May 18, 2007 by 70400

Cam Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 If Sami goes and if Paletta doesn't improve 301% over the summer then I'd be quite happy with Hreidersson coming in as cover. And could Luke Young be the new Steve Finnan?
