Unless you know the person really well, I wouldn't buy a ticket off anyone here or abroad.

Really? That kind of kills my chances of getting a ticket :(

That's just my opinion, I see fakes several times a season at Anfield and they are getting better and better. UEFA's tickets are a lot easier to copy than our own.

I would hate someone I know through this site to be stung.

Cheers mate, am not really sure what to do. No one I know can afford to go out there, I don't have a ticket, or transport, or a hotel. But I'm really tempted to just shell out the money and go after missing out in Istanbul.

Many others on here going from London? Anyone got space in a car, boat, train, camel etc?

I'm in the position of unable to go unless I work it. I cannot afford to go with or without a ticket. If in a position of affording to go I would.

It looks more and more likely that I'll be watching it in the Oakie after drinking around town, the atmosphere will be great, but nothing can compare with being there.

The only small downer on the day over there will be watching the crowd going into the ground whilst you'll be outside. However, there will be loads in similar positions.

The question you really have to ask yourself is if you can afford the cost: Do I watch it in a pub at home or in Athens ?

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to go and not watch the match. I'd rather watch it back here with loads of mates than in a pub in Athens. I might go out there and take a risk on a tout though.

Good luck then, I hope you get in.

same dilemma for me at the minute. want to go out there but realise i have little or no chance of a match ticket.

How would you get out there?

Suggestion for you.

Why don't you book a room in Liverpool, and drink around the ground whilst watching the match. If we win it'll much better than elsewhere in the country ;)

got a few options. there's still a lot of 5 and 7 day package holidays available to crete and other islands. am/was planning on doing that and then ferrying or flying over to athens. just not sure i now want to do it without the remotest prospect of a ticket.

Seriously considering that.

Going to try and find somewhere still doing day trips to Athens first though.

TOP TIP - Do your own batch of fakes, compare them to what you get offered, if they're the same you've been offered a fake. If it's real and you pay over the odds make the money back by selling the fakes you took over to people who weren't as well prepared as you.

Jim, my colour photocopier been on the go for 3 days, how many do you want?

Oh and the hotels in Liverpool are close to selling out, the chain ones i think are completely full.

Looks like there may be a lot more fans in Liverpool watching than 2 years ago.

seriously, if you do me a photocopy i will try to get in with it

apparantly it was in the Echo that the hotels in Liverpool have sold out, although i'm sure Molby might be able to help a few people out

I've got a little HP toner printer, off to buy some colour felt tip pens.

I think it's going to be harder to get to see the game here than it will be for us in Athens.

Madness.
