CAN WE REALLY BEAT MILAN AGAIN?

I've just had a flash, but the raincoats buttoned up now.

I think Liverpool v AC milan will be 0-0 after the first half of extra time, Rafa will bring on God for the Penalties. Liverpool will win a corner. It will be a scramble and Robbie Folwer will score.

Liverpool win 1-0

AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti: "The final will be a fascinating challenge - Liverpool are not as good as Manchester United but they are harder physically."

Start pinning these on the dressing room wall.

We are better than 2 years ago and they are a little worse without Schevchenko and a few of their defenders that were old in 2005 are 2 years older.

But they are coming into good form and in Kaka they have the best player in the world at the moment. We need to focus on stopping him and if we can do that it will go a long way to winning the match.

Last time we were big underdogs this time i think its much more of a 50/50 game but Kaka is the obvious danger that we must stop. Could be Sissoko's job to stop him like he stopped Xavi and Deco against Barcelona, or maybe it'll be Mascherano and a Brazil v Argentina game within a game.

GATUSO looked f***ing frightening against Muckchester, I was praying he'd get a red card.

Mancs don't have a hardman in midfield, everyone's pretty limp like. We have two.

I agree with 2-0... if whoever has the task of minimizing Kaka's influence gives a man of the match performance.

As for Ancelotti, I can't believe he'd be saying something as stupid as that. Maybe he meant Liverpool aren't as good as Man Utd in losing.

Seriously, in the League Man Utd are obviously better, but no way in Europe.

The lads are now more experienced, the first half nervy start of Istanbul won't happen again. Rafa is also more savvy tactically, with more "possibilities". In 2005, the lads went through on grit and determination alone, and a little bit of luck. We have more confidence now as we've done it before. And Reina is no Dudek. Anyways, we play better against European teams than English ones.

Agree with what you say, except for the minor edit, oh and Mascherano will nulify Kaka.

Unless Momo puts in some absolutely barn storming performances in the next couple of games, you can forget about him for the final. Don't know why he's suffered this sudden dip in form, but we can't afford to carry anyone at this stage.

Milan obviously have Kaka as their main threat, but we've faced some of the best players in the world already, and as well all know by now, there is no "I" in "team" :) Ahem, sorry. :)

I was very glad Man U were knocked out to be honest. they were the only team I thought could beat us in the final. We've had the better of Milan in the past and they'll be much more wary of us than we are of them.

Last night, Kaka, Gattuso and Seedorf (who had the best game in years) was excellent.

I'm not overly confident we'll beat them this time, and you can be sure Milan's not going to do the same error as they did last time around and step off the gas at halftime.

We're gonna 'ave 'em!

But equally, you can be sure we won't be gifting them a 3-0 lead.

First we kill the game, then we'll win it.

Another factor is of course the feel of revenge. I'm pretty sure the Milan players felt like we robbed THEIR cup the last time around (even though it was entirely their own fault, of course). They will be up for it - big time (not saying we won't).

We're capable of beating them if we play well. We'll be fitter and they've got a sh*te keeper.

All this talk of revenge plays into our hands - just look at Chelsea for that.

2-1 to the reds.

If ever there was a psychological game it will be this one, sure Milan are very good and are hell bent on revenge. But they will never be sure, will they be safe if they have a 3 goal lead, will it take 4,5,6 goals to be sure as a result of this they will always have to attack leaving gaps for us to exploit. If we take a lead say 2 -0 then their worries will magnify.

Also people forget we are a better team than in 2005 and we will have Mascherano for Didi and with a little luck a fully fit Kewell - Dida won't know how to handle Crouch

Also as we've shown this team has been blooded with regards to top european games and playing the best holds no fear, there will be no stage fright this time

we know we have to start fast and maintain that

and finally our secret weapon, the fans will sing and sing and sing raising our teams performance .....

Or not so secret!

They're going to be so up for it. But then, so were Chelsea and looked what happened to them. Our players will know they are one match away from a 2nd European Cup in 3 years. That's legend status.

We'll be just as up for it as them.

the revenge factor can be over played, apparently Chelsea were after revenge for 2005 and we saw them off

2007 will be known as the year of no revenge.

Revenge only works if you have a genuine grudge - neither Chelsea nor AC Milan have one. They just got beaten.

more confident than last time. For one our defense is better and they don't have as good an attack as in 2005.

We'd have been quite happy in 2005 if they'd have come out for the second half without:

Stam, Cafu, Shevchenko and Crespo

But they never, and we beat them anyway.
