Magic8Ball Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 IT'S A DATE FOR HICKSCHELSEA v LIVERPOOL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL, FIRST LEG. WEDNESDAY, STAMFORD BRIDGE, KO 7.45PMBy David Maddock 24/04/2007 LIVERPOOL owner Tom Hicks pencilled the date of the Champions League Final into his diary on the day he took over at Anfield. The American has also watched videos of all the club's major final victories on his private jet as it flies over the Atlantic. "I'm such an optimist I was looking ahead to the Champions League Final even before we won the first game against PSV 3-0 in the quarter-final," said Hicks. "I was looking in my diary at the dates, and hey, what a great way for us to start at Liverpool if we could win the trophy again."I have the plane stocked with DVDs and videos of all the FA and European Cup Finals and I'm watching those to catch up. "I have watched Istanbul several times - my son Alex has watched it a dozen times - and I just hope if we have that wonderful opportunity again we don't go in 3-0 down at half-time. I am not sure I could handle it." He just loves us

anfield11 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Let's hope they like football more than their present invlovements. Hick's Texas Rangers are 3rd in their division of 4. His hockey team Dallas were knocked out of the Stanley Cup last night by Vancouver. And Gillett's Montreal Canadiens failed to make the playoffs [i.e. finished outside the top 16, basically].

_00_deathscar Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Rafa wasn't managing those teams... Is the right answer.
Bailo Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Strange that GG was the "leader" in the beginning, whereas now we're hearing more from TH.

Irrelevant stat really, they're 19 games into a 160-odd game season, the equivalent of us 4 games into a season. Plus, they don't just play the other teams in their division, so strength of schedule so far is vastly different from team to team. Plus, as already noted, they don't coach the teams.
