JimmyF Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 ETO'O IN THE MARKET? Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter and Milan love the forward Francesc Aguilar/BARCELONA 24/04/07 03:00 h.The continuity of Samuel Eto'o in the FC Barcelona absolutely is not guaranteed for the next season. The Cameroun continues being object of great desire of clubs European and the events of the last weeks could derive in an unexpected upset. Although the serious injury of menisco that underwent the 27 of September in Bremen has maintained him in the drydock for more than four months, his cachet remains intact. The ?Pichichi? of Liga 2005-06 and triple ?African Gold Ball? continues being one of the best forwards of the planet and, to its 26 years, it reunites many requirements to lead a new project. He is for that reason reason why clubs as the Arsenal and the Liverpool already have shown preference for ?Samu? to give a qualitative jump that allows them to plant face to Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier. As much ?gunners? as ?reds? has formalized a supply to obtain the draftee of the forward. The adversary of the Barça in the final happened one of the Champions crosses a little while difficult and its economic stability depends on which the American millionaire Stan Kroenke takes control of the total control of the club. The Arsenal could sell to Thierry Henry and even turn to Eto'o its new jewel of the crown. The Liverpool also will have fresh money east summer after the purchase of the organization by the tycoons ?yankees? George Gillet and Tom Hicks. Rafa Benítez has thought about Eto'o to reinforce its offensive line of qualitative form. While, Inter and Milan also are very pending of which it can happen with crack azulgrana knowledgeable of which its condition of unquestionable no longer is endorsed by all the sectors of the FC Barcelona. The yield of Samuel since it landed in the Camp Nou in August of 2004 could have been better. Their goals have amortized amply the 27 million euros that the Barça paid to the two Majorca and there they are Ligas, a Spanish Glass of Europe and two Supercopas as it shows. However, the attitude of Eto'o, with their manifestations in Vilafranca towards the technician Frank Rijkaard and some of their companions, did not seat very well in the club. Not only in clothes there is a wound opened by the own Cameroun. In the director either there is no the ?quorum? of months back around the figure of Eto'o. The forward was defined in his day by Joan Laporta as ?the girl of my eyes? but some of the members of the Barcelonist meeting thinks that its presence in the group facing the future can entail other situations of conflict. Its new situation in the Barça also has pierced in the soccer mentideros, is why great clubs has reacted. The azulgrana club was reticent to listen to supplies by Samuel, like whom it received the season last coming from the Chelsea de Roman Abramovich, but the panorama has changed with the mentioned episodes caused by the own player. The Barça knows in addition that now it could obtain a considerable slice by a hypothetical crossing. The lack of affinity that Eto'o has with a part of its companions has been perceived by the African, that, according to inquired yesterday in the program ?Força Barça? of Td8, could already have requested its exit of the club. Although the liking of the Camp Nou values its contribution in the game land, its controversial declarations as much in hot as in cold, they have not either seated very well between sectors ?culés?. The club denies Md put itself in contact with the club and this one denied officially that it is thinking about transferring to no of his cracks. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools I cant imagine without a takeover Arsenal could outbid us for Eto'o, but they could always dangle a Henry-Eto'o swap
JimmyF Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 Another article today in the same paper http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools Imminent offensive of the Liverpool by Samuel Eto'o According to porteria? of Barcelona Televisió kept awake Monday in the program ?, the club ?network? will do ofertón to him to the Cameroun in fifteen days 1. According to BTV, the Liverpool it will offer to Eto'o 6 million to him euros by season 2. The English club would do to the Cameroun forward a contract to him by four campaigns 3. If crack gave ?yes?, the Liverpool would make him arrive at the Barça a supply of 40 million 4. According to the advanced thing by BTV, the English club it wants to speak with Eto'o without intermediaries 02/05/07 03:00 h.The enormous goleadora capacity of Samuel Eto'o turns to him now one of the European objectives of many clubs that approaches the moment for culminating its strategy of draftees facing the next campaign. According to the Porteria made sure Monday in the program ?? Barcelona Televisió (BTV), in the next days the Liverpool will make a direct approach to Samuel Eto'o to make him a supply stratospheric. The information that occurred yesterday in the program that presents/displays Pitu Abril in BTV offered very concrete details. In her one made sure that an emissary of the Liverpool will contact with Eto'o of direct form and without intermediaries of no type in next the fifteen days. This emissary of the club ?network? has the intention to do to the azulgrana forward a supply of 6 million net euros by season and a contract to him of four years. That is to say, very many money. If this envoy of the Liverpool obtained the approval of the azulgrana forward, immediately afterwards he would go to the FC Barcelona to do a supply to him of purchase. According to one kept awake in BTV, the club of Liverpool would offer to the azulgrana organization 40 million euros, the equivalent one to 6,655 million pesetas. This amount is far beyond the 24 million euros that the Barça paid by Samuel Eto'o in the summer of 2004 but it would not perhaps be sufficient to convince to the azulgrana organization, dice the enormous cache of a player who has marked differences in Spain and Europe since he signed by Barcelona. In addition, that nobody forgets that to the Barça always they request very many money to him when it is going to file a player, with which now would be in his right to request the maximum by his front star. In this hypothetical scene, the figures of Frank Rijkaard and Txiki Begiristain would receive the great protagonism. And it is that the Dutch trainer would have to put in the balance which loses and what it gains with the march of a forward by far goal but that dynamited ?cracked? clothes with its brutal one of Vilafranca. On the other hand, Txiki Begiristain would have to guess right with the substitute. In the market level are forwards by far but the azulgrana technical director would have to sharpen more than in previous seasons. This is not the first time that the Liverpool is interested in Samuel Eto'o. The own player admitted that, he himself year that fichó by the Barça, the club ?network? economically did a supply to him superior to the azulgrana
JimmyF Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 Probably right, I think he would score us the goals we need to win a league though, of the Eto'o, Villa, Torres trifecta he seems to be the most realistic target, I would say Villa is out of our price range
johngibo YPC Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 he'd pisch everyone off within three months actually, i think you will find he will drive us crazy with his goals and his passes
Magic8Ball Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 regardless of whether this is true or not, it would seem we are no longer shopping in the bargain basementbeing linked with Simao, Eto'o, Alves, Villa - these are some of europes best and gives me great hope for the future having said that, I still hope we are in for Tevez (as well as the above) this summer
JAYJAYryan Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 If we were to pull off a coup like this in the summer I would be absolutely delighted. For me there is no more clinical striker in the world at the minute and just coming into his prime as a footballer.
McBain Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 If we sign Eto'o i'll change my username to forum f*ckwit Would love to see it happening but i still cant
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Eto'o is not one of the best headers of the ball. In the aerial obsessed Premier that may be a handicapp. Not to mention his off-the-pitch lifestyle, his arrogance and spoilt character, the African Nations' Cup.

Granted he does seem an absolute t*** at times but he's the best striker in the World by a mile. I'm sure we'd cope.

In the aerial obsessed Premier that may be a handicapp. Not to mention his off-the-pitch lifestyle, his arrogance and spoilt character, the African Nations' Cup.True but his pace and clinical finishing would be too much for most premiership defences, sometimes strikers need to be knobs, they need to have that selfishness/arrogance - It makes them what they are
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 who would you rather see at liverpool fig? Personally I'd rather have Villa and keep Kuyt and Crouch. Offload Bellamy. I'd spend big money on Villa and Alves. If possible I'd get Owen back as well. But Villa is also a big risk - he has the same socio-economic background as Reyes and a similar type of extended family. he would find it hard to settle in, probably a lot harder if he went to London though. I can see Eto'o becoming another Diouf. God forbid.

honourablegeorge Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 (edited) After seeing Morientes bomb so badly here, and how Kanoute and Forlan look so good in Spain, you have to be very wary of Spanish strikers in general. I think Villa's the most excitign player I've seen for years, I love everything about him, but part of me think's he'd be a disaster over here. Eto'o I admire almost as much, somehow I think he'd adjust better, but at £30M, he's a huge risk. Are these papers even vaguely credible? Edited May 2, 2007 by honourablegeorge
JimmyF Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 Eto'o is probably better physically suited to cope with rigours of the prem then those others. Mundo Deportivo is a sports daily in barca, i've seen them use stories from this paper on Revista on a few occassions. Credibility, probably the same as what marca is to real madrid
Dominus Maximus Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Eto'o would be great. What we need is a game decider. A striker that can score without any help. A moment of magic to break the deadlock. An Henry, Kaka, Eto'o type of player. All respect to our current players but we lack that magic player. We had it in Garcia, but we need a striker with that ability aswell. Agree?
Leo No.8 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I've seen Eto'o score some cracking headers for Barca. Always thought he attacks the ball well in the area, although how good he is dealing with longer aerial balls I don't know because it very rarely occurs with Barca...

Guest AdamS Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I can see Eto'o becoming another Diouf. God forbid.Diouff was never nearly the best player in the world. Eto'o works his nads of and he's just sheer class.
stressederic Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I can see Eto'o becoming another Diouf. God forbid. Oh god really? I don't want to have to start distilling my hatred.
