Granted he does seem an absolute t*** at times but he's the best striker in the World by a mile. I'm sure we'd cope.

True but his pace and clinical finishing would be too much for most premiership defences, sometimes strikers need to be knobs, they need to have that selfishness/arrogance - It makes them what they are

Personally I'd rather have Villa and keep Kuyt and Crouch. Offload Bellamy.

 

I'd spend big money on Villa and Alves. If possible I'd get Owen back as well.

 

But Villa is also a big risk - he has the same socio-economic background as Reyes and a similar type of extended family. he would find it hard to settle in, probably a lot harder if he went to London though.

After seeing Morientes bomb so badly here, and how Kanoute and Forlan look so good in Spain, you have to be very wary of Spanish strikers in general.

 

I think Villa's the most excitign player I've seen for years, I love everything about him, but part of me think's he'd be a disaster over here.

 

Eto'o I admire almost as much, somehow I think he'd adjust better, but at £30M, he's a huge risk.

 

 

Are these papers even vaguely credible?

Eto'o is probably better physically suited to cope with rigours of the prem then those others.

 

Mundo Deportivo is a sports daily in barca, i've seen them use stories from this paper on Revista on a few occassions. Credibility, probably the same as what marca is to real madrid

Eto'o would be great. What we need is a game decider. A striker that can score without any help. A moment of magic to break the deadlock. An Henry, Kaka, Eto'o type of player. All respect to our current players but we lack that magic player. We had it in Garcia, but we need a striker with that ability aswell. Agree?

Long arial balls are not effective, I noticed Crouch scored from more headers that were whipped in fast at about head height, so they can be attacked at pace

I'm sure Pennant will be able to do that same for Eto'o
