Liverpool have already tied up a deal that will see Bayer Leverkusen striker Andrei Voronin join on a free transfer in the summer, but Benitez continues to be linked with a range of strikers with Reggina's Rolando Bianchi now joining the list.

 

Reports in Italy claim that The Reds have been scouting the 13-goal striker who could cost around ?15million (£10.2million).

independent today has us sending a scout to look at udinese's vincenzo iaquinta and christian zapata.

 

We've been monitoring Iaquinta for a couple of years now I think. We seem to have had scouts watch him a few times this season.

Iaquinta always surprises me with how quick he is. He just doesn't look like he'd be able to run as fast as he does, but he's f*cking rapid. I do like him but it surprises me none of the bigger clubs over there have snapped him up if he's that good.

 

Strikes me his status there is kind of on a level with Andy Johnson - good at club level, will score 15 goals a season and is around the international scene without ever really being first choice.

 

I'm not sure that really improves on what we have.

he reminds me a bit of ravanelli. only without the grey hair, mafioso entourage and left foot.
