He spent 15 of them signalling exactly where he intended to put the ball.

 

 

how do you work that out ? It was clear he was going to have a crack at goal but there is nothing anyone can do to spot where he's going to place it.

 

I think he'd be a fantastic signing for us.

He was very exposed against Damien Duff on Saturday, needs a bit more experience.

 

To be fair Riise looks exposed against any half decent winger, I can't see this lad doing any worse. You've probably seen more of Bale though and we do have this Insua lad coming through.

Bale is definitely a massive talent, and I would love us to sign him.

 

I was just very dissapointed on saturday, it probably doesn't help having the Wales defence alongside you though to be fair.

From what I've seen Insua is a very talented lad - he looks a cut above most of the other reserve players already.

 

I think he'll push for first team spot before too long, and because of him we won't go for Bale (great young player though he is).

Have yet to see Insua play. What's he like Leo ? fast, skillful ? solid defensively ? Does he get forward and put in good crosses ? Or is it more his all round game thats just a cut above his peers ?

The all-round game is exactly it. At reserve level he's very comfortable and composed on the ball, solid defensively and his distribution is excellent plus he's pretty decent in the air for his size. He's got that all-round capability you look for in a full-back.

 

Thinking of comparisons (which are always unfair) I'd say a little bit like Heinze when he plays on the left. I'm not sure Insua would have the physical strength to play in the centre the way Heinze does though, maybe in a few years time because he's still very young and growing.

 

He's a good prospect alright, I think he's got the temperament and game to make the step up more quickly than most.

He's got a cracking left foot, but he's awful defensively. He may learn, but at the moment he's a bit like Christian Ziege. He is only 17 though.
