Dissension in our ranks. Are some of the people here:

A. Frustrated by the lack of drive in the Prem.

B. Think that we have nothing much to look forward to and that any change is good at this stage.

C. Just want Rafa out as they think the club can't move forward with him?

Just curious.

What?

As has been said a miillion times before, there really is nothing left to play for in the Prem this season ~ 3rd = 4th for me, and we have to make sure we just get to 4th, even if it means scraping in by 1 point.

We need to go all out for the European Cup and win the bloody thing.

How many games this year have we bossed possession-wise without really looking a threat. It's like we never learn from our mistakes and keep trying the same thing game after game. Passing the ball from side to side and back again doesn't get you three points. The likes of Utd have a second gear that ebnables them to overcome teams like Villa. Unfortunately we seem to run out of ideas.

I'm frustrated by our lack of creative talent up front and on the wings, frustrated how we play football away from home, frustrated in Rafa for his stubbornness on playing so many defenders against teams that sit back, frustrated that Kuyt and Sissoko aren't dropped because of their poor form.

i sometimes worry that people on here are starting already to turn like they did against houllier........ Houllier was great for Liverpool and got us out of the "backroom boys" routine and brought us upto to date but i do agree that he went at the right time .........

Benitez is the right thing for this club right attitude right mentality and will take us where we need to go.

The League is our holy grail we will achieve it and i think he is going the right way about it he has signed Crouch and Bellamy who have both scored on a regular basis for their previous clubs but have not done it for us.........

The 5 year plan that pundits bounce about is B*llocks ........Ferguson(Man U), Wenger(a***), Curbishley(Charl) and even Moyes have had more than 5 years at their clubs and have all improved their clubs.....

Arsenal - not boring anymore - league and european improvment

Man u - not even gonna start

Charlton - regulars in Prem

Everton - challenging for Europe

I know am talking to the minority of people but the minority turned from majority in Houllier's case very quickly

i still hear people referring to Houillier as the "bog eyed French F*cker" to think in 5 years as Rafa in them terms hurts and people should wait and have faith in the man who will make us great again.......

That is all

look at what happened to Arsenal today, they had a lion's share of the possession and fell to the late goal, again.

they can pass the ball around great until they get to the opposition box and then they feel the need to pass it again.

we pass it around so much, we let the opposition get men back and snuff out our build up, or, we get the ball out wide, send it in to our 2 diminuitive strikers who get nowhere near the ball. near the end today, pennant put in a great cross and the closest Liverpool player was aurelio and I do not recall seeing another yellow shirt in the box.

a lack of pace and a lack of urgency is hurting us.

Momo Sissoko in his current form, playing in the middle of the park ahead of Gerrard, is what's causing the lack of drive.

I am a Momo fan, but Stevie has been excellent in the middle when Momo's been out. And up until then, I've always believed that Gerrard was best on the right like last season. Not anymore, because Stevie's matured heaps, and has shown that understands the central midfield role very well now.

Pennant was superb coming on in the last few 15 or so minutes, and brought more attacking verve to the game than any other player who was on the pitch for the whole match.

Kuyt needs to get in the box more and not get involved with the build up play as often, because if Momo is playing it simply means we have no goal threat coming from the middle of the park. He also needs to sort out some of his decision making at key moments. Finally, I don't recall him taking a shot all game today.

If/when Mascherano and Alonso play together in the middle, Xabi should be the one in the advanced role, not Javier. Who showed that he is a very competent player today. Tigerish in the tackle, and his passing was pretty decent too.

Our left midfielders are not up to standard if we need to break teams down; we miss Garcia and Kewell very badly.

We've played better than today, and still ended up losing this season.

I've never slagged of Ged and I never will. Why would I. At the same time I wouldn't slag of Rafa but I have had a few questioning moments to be honest regarding us in the league. The fact that we spent so much during the summer (and we did spend big ) and have failed miserably has left a bitter taste. The league was over by October and that really pissed me off. I honestly felt that we'd give the top two a run for their money this season but that looks as far away as it's ever done.

The fact that the players seem to choose which games to put the effort in worries me more than who might arrive in the summer as that won't really matter if you can't get 100% out of who you have. I can't believe he told the players to coast today like some suggest as that's not on.

Can't understand why we've got Robbie Fowler in our squad and we don't bother playing him until it's too late.

This is especially stupid considering that in the summer we have to, er, buy someone like a young Robbie Fowler.

It was only a suggestion for such a lack lustre performance.

Fowler really doesn't have the legs for it anymore to be fair.

Not for 90 minutes, but a lot longer than 6.

Not sure who in our squad could've made a difference today, to be honest. Fowler obviously got on the end of a chance in the short time he was on but Pennant's cross was about as close to getting in behind the Villa defence we got all day. I thought the first half wa crying out for Xabi but he was dissapointing as well.

All in all very poor.

agree completely

have come very close to landing myself in bother with people disrespecting GH in the past

he, like Rafa, gave heart and soul for the club

it's about the money...just the f***ing money - we sign Alvez, Eto, Kaka and a top class left back/winger...and begin to think about finding a pacy centre back

and we're away

I think most people think Rafas the best manager we could have at the moment, the problem is more with a lack of real creative players for exactly this type of game.

Its been said for a while now but this game illustrated it again, we need attacking players that can beat a man and create something out of nothing hopefully that will be addressed in the summer.

We need attacking players with that bit of unpredictability who can produce something out of nothing. At the moment we have a group of players that work hard as a unit and all know their jobs but we only have maybe 1 or 2 capable of that real bit of skill to change a game like today.

Someone like Eto and a wide player like Quaresmo or Alves that will commit defenders is what we're lacking.

We need midflrs who can shoot and score.

We have an unpredictable player in Luis who unfortunately is injured. Mayb we need another or just a very good winger?

A lack of goals from midfield is obviously 1 problem losing Garcia meant we lost our biggest goal threat from midfield but i also feel we lack that striker than can make something out of nothing. Our 3 main strikers are all hard working and do a job for the team but we dont have someone that can make his own chances or create something out of nothing like an Henry.

Someone like Eto as an example would be the type of striker that would score lots of goals with good service but is also capable of making and taking his own chances.

It was poor today, and I am not happy with the point and cannot understand why Rafa is.

Er, what makes you think he is?

He said "At least we got a point", and he said it was the "only positive".

to me, that means - at least we didnt lose. And what is wrong with feeling like that? Nothing worked, we played crap, the players were not up for it, so he considered all these factors and said "hey, at least we didnt lose." Obviously it isnt ideal, and I am not even saying we should be happy with a point esp. against villa, but you are misunderstanding him.

Yeah very boring. It was obvious other than a fluke we're not gonna score and I wish Rafa made his substitutions earlier . Our league performance have regressed from last season and we are missing Kewell and Garcia, our two most creative forces.

i feel Kyut is a good striker. However, hes doing TOO much in other parts of the field and not wheres hes suppose to be in the 6 yd to 25 yd box. Dont know why? But is he under instruction? If he is, no matter whio you put there, hes aint goinna get the goals if he has to track back to help out.

my guess is hes under instruction and if so, it would be better to get midflrs who can score. But if we can afford Eto'o why not?

Our problem is that there is no way we will lose out on at least 4th place so our season in the league is all but over.

In Rafs first season we fought it out for 4th place and last season we had a fight with the mancs for second.

If we finsih third or fourth is really not something to get the heart pumping, not for us and I suspect not for Rafa either, the only thing that matters now is the CL.

Its been like this since we did beat Barca and its an empty feeling to be honest, we were piss poor today but I dont get angry and I dont get sad, I just feel empty I cant remember last time I felt this way, its a strange feeling.
