wow...i thought this forum couldnt plummet to further depths but I was wrong....

 

You would think that some on here have never tasted defeat before...you lot need to get a grip

 

Anyway....not a bad trip up north (weather and traffic)...apart from having Jon Hall and Hightown (can i stop to have a piss for the 15th time in 10 miles) Phil with me....

 

In the Union rooms as usual.......Bit jittery about the game being on as news of the pitch inspection was coming through, looking outside to see the rain lashing down.....it didnt look positive..

 

I met a lad in there who I went on the lash with before the Cheyrou Cup game at Anfield....Nice lad he is Jon, Geordie who lives in Yorkshire....absolutley mortalled he got me...shame I couldnt repay him as I was driving..

 

Anyway a brief walk through the rain, and up the 11454 steps to the seat (my own pre Barca training camp!)...Match starts and all seems well...early goal, Bellers to boot...I really thought they were going to get a shoeing......However, we re visited our early season away form again...loads of chances, but not taking them......we should have been out of sight at ht...maybe 3 or 4 up...Bellamy x 3, Zenden all should score...I thought Bellers worked very hard, and was a tad unlucky but we need to be putting them away...for me thats the main difference between us and the Mancs....they would have won that 3 or 4-1 yesterday.....

 

Second half was not great.....again though we have a chance at 1-1 which Kuyt should put away but we suffer for it...

 

Lets face facts here, they did f*** all...we are two mistakes away from winning that game 1-0, they would not have scored any if it wasnt for our own errors..........I havnt seen the goals on the tele yet, but Reina looked a tad rash rushing out....and riise left his foot in and gifted the pen...apart from that they did nothing....

 

Whereas we created a bucket load.....

 

Not much wrong with the performance (in difficult conditions).....The managers comments after was correct....

 

we need to be ruthless

 

oh, and i thought our support was s***...loads of moaning...and not alot of singing esp 2nd half

lets face it Man U, Chelsea ( what's happened to Drogba?) yea even Arsenal have enough creative talent and ammuntion to win games like this, we're still lacking in that department

maybe part of it is how Rafa wants his strikers to play ....?

what do you mean? missing chances?

 

if we were not creating chances, and the strikers not getting on the end of them then it would be valid...but we are....by the bucket load

 

its got balls all to do with how the manager wants them to play as we are getting the opportunities

I put it to you that not only do the other top 3 sides finish better they create better chances - now thats interesting as which is the more important finishing better or creating better chances ?

We were saying this on our way back yesterday. We were also wondering just how near we'd be if we still had a clinical finisher such as Owen or Fowler at their peak.

 

Anyway, our support WAS s*** and I got into lumber for telling someone to stop being a racist c***. He was two rows behind me with his Happy Scall mates screaming "MyyyewNICKKKKKKK" every time Butt got the ball (like he could hear us from that far away). He saved his best for the pen, though. "f*** off you Paki. I 'ope yer mam dies of AIDS yer f***in' little n****r!" I told him that was his last one and no-one around me backed me up! Not one single soul! His mates, to be fair, were embarrassed but the number of times I've had to tell our fans at aways to behave themselves through not being able to stop myself will get me battered one day. I'm just waiting for the day the queue-jumper at Wigan remembers me when he's with all his mates!
