Ombudsam Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I very rarely say break the bank for anyone but from the first time I saw this lad for Zaragoza he looked a bit special. Apparently he's fallen out with the Valencia (who for some reason always reminds me of Mourinho). I think he's a guarantee of goals, is really skilful, quick and can get assists as well. He'd be awesome with Kuyt/Crouch. Valencia look like they are gonna be good this season and for a while yet so maybe he wouldn't come but who knows
McBain Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 He turned down the chance to come here before he joined Valencia Cant see why that would change. Even if we did have £30m
kop205 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Won't come. Says he doesn't like The Beatles. (That was him, wasn't it?)
Guest Kev Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Won't come. Says he doesn't like The Beatles. (That was him, wasn't it?) Neither do I.
Leo No.8 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) If he doesn't like The Beatles I don't want him at Anfield. No seriously, he's one of the best centre-forwards in Europe at present and any of the top clubs would want him. He's technically fantastic, a great finisher and has a brilliant football brain (I don't think he is that quick, his yard is in his head like Robbie in his heyday). Having recently signed a new contract he's way out of our price range fall-out or not though, they'd certainly want a fee of £20m+. I'd rather he stayed there in all honesty, because if he does decide he'll move to England Manchester United will be in the market and they'll have the kind of money he'd command, having saved £18m when they tried to buy Hargreaves and failed and shifted Smith out on loan. I'll only start worrying though if I hear he's got a few Oasis albums... Edited November 12, 2006 by Leo No.8
Guest Kev Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Does Villa have a pool and views? Stick to rumours, your jokes are awful
Benitez Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I very rarely say break the bank for anyone but from the first time I saw this lad for Zaragoza he looked a bit special. He'd be awesome with Kuyt/Crouch. Valencia look like they are gonna be good this season and for a while yet so maybe he wouldn't come but who knows Don't think it's a big fall out. He just got told off for being overly aggressive in training, and hurting a couple reserve players with wild tackles PLUS, Quique Sanchez Flores would get the boot before Villa would leave Valencia. Villa is far more of a valuable asset to them and I doubt he's leaving Spain anytime soon.
Ombudsam Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Having recently signed a new contract he's way out of our price range fall-out or not though, they'd certainly want a fee of £20m+. we dont need that many players we could get him for that. like i've said and you and benitez (poster) have said. for a variety of reasons it looks unlikely
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 definitely a player we missed out on. damn you, rafa!
Benitez Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 definitely a player we missed out on. damn you, rafa! If only he hadn't bought that useless lump Cisse Know nothing fool!
KD07 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 It's just like playing Footie Manager with Joaquin and Vicente and Villa in the team.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Valencia have been putting together a very solid spanish side, it has to be said. Canizares, Del Horno, Marchena, Joaquin, Albelda, Baraja, Vicente, Villa and Morientes is a very solid core.
Benitez Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 They do have a really good squad. Although they have some injuries troubles now, but Baraja and Vicente are back. Don't think the fans are falling for that as an excuse tho when they can only manage a tame 1-1 draw last night at home v's Bilbao.
Leo No.8 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 definitely a player we missed out on. damn you, rafa! I don't think us not getting him was down to Rafa - he wanted Villa, but the lad himself didn't want to come to England. In all honesty I didn't know much about him at the time, but I remember a good few posters coming out with 'David Villa, who's he? Don't want to sign him he's a no-mark' type comments...
Rich Gobey Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 If Rafa wanted to sign me to play for Liverpool I think I'd come.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 what if he wanted you to sign for Zaragoza?
Rich Gobey Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 what if he wanted you to sign for Zaragoza? I'd go limp.
