Guest mikeg Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 really can make a huge difference to an entire season, i was really disapointed when i seen the team we picked against sheffield united and i really feel if we had won that match we would have done a lot better in the other matches we have played so far and could well be still involved in the title race, we should have treat that game like a cup final but sadly i felt rafa thought just turning up was enough to take the 3 points also im quite a cynical person i cant help think that whoever decided on the fixture lists did everything they could to give the scum the flying start that ferguson was demanding, i still think they are riding high on a wave of confidence from winning those piss easy fixtures and that injuries and suspensions will cripple them in the 2nd half of the season because their overall squad dosent have enough strength in depth
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The reason Utd had a flying start is because they are playing very well. We possibly got the easiest team on the opening day of the season. Give credit where its due, they destroyed Bolton and many other teams this season. Not sure if there form will last but its upto the team to win whoever they play.
Jarg Armani Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 sheffield utd was a dreadful result in hindsight wasn't it?
Guest mikeg Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 (edited) i think under the circumstances we had one of the hardest fixtures of the opening day, any team playing a newly promoted team away from home on the opening day of the season is historically a really difficult fixture for any team Edited October 30, 2006 by mikeg
D.Boon Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 sheffield utd was a dreadful result in hindsight wasn't it? Foresight, hindsight, shortsight, longsight. It was s****
Sion Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Utd will crumble by Feb cause of their tiny squad, only about 17/18 good players. RAFA'S ROTATION WILL PREVAIL!
stressederic Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I don't think you can look at the Sheffield United result through the lens of their recent performances. It was their first game back in the Premiership, against a big name team at home. They were always going to be pumped up for it and come flying out of the traps. We should have performed much better, but it wasn't an easy game. And United had the easiest first game to the season. At home to a Fulham side who are f***ing terrible away from home.
Eskimo Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 i felt rafa thought just turning up was enough to take the 3 points I don't think for one minute Rafa ever thinks that way..
Guest mikeg Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I don't think for one minute Rafa ever thinks that way.. i think its plainly obvious that he has been guilty of that a few times since his arrival, the overall quality of the teams lower down in the premiership and in the championship as a whole will have been a suprise to him i have no doubt about that
M4TTA Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 you seriously on thw wind up or something here??

Guest mikeg Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 you seriously on thw wind up or something here?? no why? In his first season possibly but not now... i think hes still learning tho, dont get me wrong i totally rate and back the guy im just having a whinge lol he definatly learns by his mistakes thats what i like about him, and im pretty certain he wont rotate as much in future seasons as he has in this one, i love the way he has the balls to show players the door when they arent good enough, especially players that he has signed himself, fair do's they have been a mistake by him to buy them in the 1st place but his transfer policy is definatly a recipe for success in the long term houllier take note lol
Falconhoof Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 and im pretty certain he wont rotate as much in future seasons as he has in this one If anything he'll rotate more as he improves the squad and has more dependable options at his disposal.

Or cos you are being utterly condesending towards him? Just a thought like. Like the 'they have been a mistake by him to buy them in the first place but....'. The one big transfer failure so far was Morientes, a player most fans where delighted to sign. You seem obsessed by this rotation lark as well. How about explaining to us minions how come our biggest problem this season is many of our senior players failure to perform - despite them playing the bulk of games? He'll always change the team, same as many other managers do, he did it at Valencia, and he does it here. He won't change. Even though I'm sure he's taking note of your genius as he reads this forum.

Rimbeux Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 If anything he'll rotate more as he improves the squad and has more dependable options at his disposal. True true Boy also doesn't seem to have used his results data properly in his comprehensive analysis of 'where it all went wrong'. Might just scrape a pass in Pub Punditry 101, but where's the bit where he explains away how this rotation lark, which he puts forward as a guaranteed way to drop points and bad influence people, where's the bit where he explains away how it seems to be no issue whatsoever for say Chesea or Man U, just to take two at random?

Rimbeux Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 no offence mate but are you at this present moment in time a very drunk college graduate? 10/10 for effort tho I'm asking the questions here But in the spirit of the game, the answer is not even close
stressederic Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 no offence mate but are you at this present moment in time a very drunk college graduate? 10/10 for effort tho What gave it away? Was it the sentence structure, reasoned argument, or carefully sculpted sarcastic tone?
M4TTA Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 (edited) is this not just another of Andy's personas? no, Andy has some humour in his posts and is usually ok.. Edited October 30, 2006 by M4TTA
