Guest Ant Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 At fault for a few of our goals this season and has been very poor positioning wise Disscuss...
Koogan Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 World Cup hangover. He'll be back soon enough.
rjlfc Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Has to be said, not having a good time of it this season. I'm not blaming him solely for tonights defensive shambles, but he looks so out of sorts. I don't know if its not having Sami next to him, but both him and Agger hardly won a header. Every single cross into the box (of which there were far, far too many, we looked very exposed down the left) were chances, partly cos the crosses were so good, but our centre halves were rarely anywhere near them. As I say, Agger has to take some blame too, but I think Jamie has suffered this season, its not the first time he's looked of the pace. And I'm very worried we haven't got a true ball winner in the air without Sami in the team.
Benitez Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 At fault for a few of our goals this season and has been very poor positioning wise Disscuss... yes he was in our first few games, but that was then this is now, so whats the point of this now? Discuss....

chrisbonnie Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 World Cup hangover. He'll be back soon enough. didnt he only play 1 game? but i think he`s been poor this season, ill admit it
Guest Phil C Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 new partner in the centre...he pines for Sami....
Guest Ant Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Tonight he was at fault for the 2nd Goal, Finnan was tracking back to mark the man behind and Carragher lost his marker who went on to score.
chrisbonnie Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Tonight he was at fault for the 2nd Goal, Finnan was tracking back to mark the man behind and Carragher lost his marker who went on to score. in fairness, i dont think any of our players played particularly well for more than the first 20 minutes or so the second goal stemmed from Gerrard giving it away and then just looking at it as he strolled back towards our goal, crap marking by Carra, but the problem could, and should have been stemmed higher up the pitch
Guest Ant Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 So? He also was at fault for the 2 goals we conceded... Im not trying to ridicule Carra I just believe he has been totally tosh this season positioning wise more then anything... in fairness, i dont think any of our players played particularly well for more than the first 20 minutes or so the second goal stemmed from Gerrard giving it away and then just looking at it as he strolled back towards our goal, crap marking by Carra, but the problem could, and should have been stemmed higher up the pitch Outlines the fact that how important Momo is to us and how incredible Finnan is... Aurelio just isn't a defender I would suggest a defence v Bolton consisting of Riise Hyypia Carra Finnan Back to basics on the defense that carried us last season, I chose carragher for the sheer fact that Agger will probably be rested and Hyypia is due a game
Benitez Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 ] did you even watch the game tonight?????? yes I did And I also know that much of our issues tonight where with what went on BEFORE the ball got through to attacking positions for Gala. ????????????????????????????????????????????????? you like them don't you.
Guest Ant Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 And I also know that much of our issues tonight where with what went on BEFORE the ball got through to attacking positions for Gala. ????????????????????????????????????????????????? you like them don't you. Granted thats true but that doesn't make it ok does it?
Rimbeux Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 new partner in the centre...he pines for Sami.... So what about the games played with Sami? What I will say is that the injuries have not helped, especially at left back, and people look out of sorts. JC has been edgy, the keeper has been edgy, Finnan has been Finnan which helps. Agger needs to man up in the air, or else he'll just encourage that line of attack until it does become an issue, right now he's looking for the foul rather than powering through them.
Guest flaps Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 na carra never really makes mistakes, everyone knows that. Even when it appears that he was at fault, there's some mitigating or extenuating factor.
Guest JV Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Agree with you Ant., I think he's been below par for most if not all of the season so far.
Dule Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I thought Campo's goal was a bloody good cross to be honest. But Carra has not been his best this year, he will be though.
Eskimo Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 na carra never really makes mistakes, everyone knows that. Even when it appears that he was at fault, there's some mitigating or extenuating factor. He ain't foreign...
Paul Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 True, he hasn't been himself since the injury but people loathe to criticise Carra because he has been so consistent for us for a number of years. Sure, he's made mistakes, but who hasn't? Thankfully, he's kept his to a minimum. Mistakes you can forgive, lack of effort is a more worrying problem. Carra is rarely, if ever, guilty of this.
Hassony Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Sure, he's made mistakes, but who hasn't? Diao, he hasn't made any mistakes for a couple of seasons now
£440,000 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Diao, he hasn't made any mistakes for a couple of seasons now He's probably been our most consistent player in that time.
intense enigma Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 He's probably been our most consistent player in that time. Yeah, the unsung hero...has gone unnoticed in matches.
