It's a funny old game. This time last season he was struggling to score and being criticised by many yet he was given the chance. This season he starts really well for club and country and is then dropped for three games. I wonder how the lad must feel. After all the positives from his England perfromances he has been brought right down to Earth.

He'll be back soon, especially away from home I think. At a guess I'd say he, Crouch and Bellamy will all play roughly the same amount of games this season with Garcia and Robbie sharing the 4th striker responsibilities.

I have wondered about Crouch lately - it seemed like he hit peak form, then Rafa came out and made a few slightly odd comments about him having to improve and since that he hasn't started a game.

I don't know whether he's said or done something to annoy the boss. It would be out of character I know, but Rafa's comments just seemed a bit strange at the time and now several games on we've hardly seen anything of him.

I think he's tired. He's a big lad, but he's out of shape ( Now behave. ) and i don't think he has the stamina of some of our other players.

First time in his career he's been playing almost non-stop and there's bound to be some effect.

Bascombe said during pre season that kuyt and bellamy were likely to be first choice. Crouch is still gonna get alot of games with rafa rotating and the amount of games we play, injuries etc. Nothing to be worried about.

Rafa did shell out £15m on 2 strikers remember, hardly to sit on the bench every week. But likewise, Rafa knows Crouch and I think 'trusts' him more than he did Cisse last year so he'll get plenty of games.

I thought the same Leo. After the England games Rafa quickly came out and said Crouch needs to keep his feet on the ground and not get carried away with the attention. I thought maybe he was just bringing him back down to Earth. Maybe it went to his head a bit and effected his usual great attitude.

perhaps some of us are reading more into Raf's comments than we need to.

Crouch will play in games where his skills are most suited.

Newcastle's defence was ideal for a mobile 3 pronged attack, maybe Spurs will require the battering ram of the man on stilts.

i think I will leave it the boss to decide.

he hardly started on fire for us this year, even the games he did score, i know, you can call me fickle, but he played pretty poorly, dare i say, the non scoring Crouch last year was alot better, no problems with his england performances though, but nothing to go mad over, it was only andorra and moldova was it, sorry, im not english

but ive no problem with him being dropped at the moment, he`ll get his chance again ,and hopefully he`ll take it like he has done on many occasion
