Andy @ Allerton Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 (edited) think he's probably the best ref in the Leaguehad a poor game yesterday however. Cobs you're a nice fella and all that - but f*** off He was woeful yesterday for both teams He is as never has been any good. Edited September 10, 2006 by Andy
Andy @ Allerton Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 As some people (f***ing nutters if you ask me!) seem to think he's f***ing great (!?) I thought I would put Poll to the poll..
dorgie Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I thought Poll's ego would have taken a battering after the summer, but looking at him yesterday, sadly it hasn't.
Guest Assassin Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I voted shìteas he is generally shìte. However, he is one of the better refs, which doesnt say too much about the rest of the shìte we have to endure through the season
Cobs Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Since Durkin retired he's the best ref in the League, for me. Doesn't mean he's infallible, far from it but he consistently gets the big games and there's a reason for that - he gets a lot of decisions right. He'll feck up here and there, same as any other ref, and have bad games overall as he did yesterday but he's not a schit ref. His problem is he does seem to revel in the attention, making controversial decisions, knowing the star players etc - bit like Jeff Winter before him.
Maldini Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I've never seen why he's rated so highly, he always gives the obvious decisions, but just ignores the awkward ones. He's a coward.

Any referee that could miss that Alonso 'challenge' from f***ing 10 yards is NOT in any sense of the word a good referee. You must be on f***ing drugs.
nvdm Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I don't have a problem with Poll, but Clattenberg is the best ref in the league for me.
Mondavi Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Attention Seeker. Loves controversy, always has to have a word when better refs just let the game go, and keep their ego's off the pitch. Really, really has an overinflated opinion of his worth to the game of football. He doesn't realise he's supposed to be a facilitator, not the star attraction.
Knoxy Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 He's usually very good When he's not he tends to be awful, as he was yesterday
Guest Kev Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Clattenburg is the best ref in the league for me. Poll, Bennett, Styles, Riley, Wiley can all f*** off.
Sion Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 He should have quit, or made to be after his farce of a WC. He makes Riley look good.
Guest knightsy Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 agree clattenberg and also webb are good ,is it because they have something to prove coming into prem last year poll ,halsey ,bennet ,riley wileyi dread geeting they seem to think sky are there for them and make one or two very dubious descions, wonder who we get for chelsea, not another ref who cant see handballs, dives grabbing shirt every corner ,, i could go on but you get the message
berdoing Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Can't say the ref was particularly bad. A couple of 50-50 calls, but there wasn't much incident in the game. Don't blame the ref for this defeat. It was a definite penalty, though. The jam's just not spreading for us at the moment.
Buzz Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 See no one has mentioned uriah Rennie yet. By the way, didn't know they were all in league of there own!. Where do the parade their trophy!!Referees League Championship Poll has given only 4 reds, but 101 yelows already - I know a game three of those were in
Billy Dane Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Steve Bennett has taken over from Mike Riley and Rob Styles as the worst ref for me, he is even more arrogant than Poll (If that can be possible)

Guest Cameron Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Poll is bad, but not quite as bad as Bennet. I still can't believe he sent off Xabi against Arsenal last season when neither he nor his assistants saw the incident. Absolutely disgraceful, can't believe the FA didn't throw the book at him for that.
