MindGuerrillas Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) Roy Keane!!!!!!! Can't see the Sunderland fans being too happy with that. Yesterday Quinn promised a world class manager and then appoints someone with no experience whatsoever Edited August 23, 2006 by MindGuerrillas
Andy @ Allerton Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hope he gets shot up the a*** by a disgruntled Sunderlonian
Benitez Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Nial Quinn and his 'world class manager' talk of the other day

Guest Cameron Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) Erm, don't Keane and Quinn hate each other? Can't see this appointment happening. Edited August 23, 2006 by Cameron
Herbie von Smalls Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 ha! world class c*** as manager, to be precise. i wonder how many transfer requests will be submitted within the next week?
Guest RedLegend Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 ha! world class c*** as manager, to be precise. i wonder how many transfer requests will be submitted within the next week? Wouldn't say much for the character of the Blunderland players if they s**** it at the first rumour of Keane arriving. Would be no loss to get rid of half of them anyway judging by their performances.

Ostrich Man Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 theres my team for the championship then. go on sunderland.
Gilps Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 My mate's misus is a Mackem. She's inconsolable at the news, poor love. Kidd's going to be his assistant, so there's some coaching experience there, but it hardly strikes you as a recipe for success.
JohnBonham Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 and yesterday they completed the signing of Glenn Hyséns son, left winger Tobias Hysén.
Maldini Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 They obviously have a bit of cash to spend, no way Keane would go there if they weren't going to back him. Hysen cost them £1.7m.
Ronnie Whelan Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Keane is meant to be getting ?3m a season.
Leo No.8 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Recipe for disaster. Keane will be driven quickly insane with rage at trying to deal with players who are of such a drastically lower level than he was as a player and those he's always had around him. But you never can tell with these things I suppose...
Gomez Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Wouldn't say much for the character of the Blunderland players if they s**** it at the first rumour of Keane arriving. Would be no loss to get rid of half of them anyway judging by their performances. Why? They have their careers to be thinking about. The appointment of Keane IMO displays gross mismanagement on behalf of the Sunderland bosses. The players have been promised a world class manager and an all out attempt to return to the premiership at the first opportunity, yet the appointment of Keane contradicts that. Not only does he have zero managerial experience (I am as much of a world class manager as he is) he has a record of very bad judgement and a volatile temprement. He has none of the qualities that would lead you to think he is a decent manager, never mind a world class one. A homeless man's Souness. If players are going to leave, they only have week to do it in, why should they sacrifice 6 months or more of their career to the ego of Keane and the folly of the Sunderland bosses? It wouldn't display poor character if they left, it would display astute judgement. PS. Quinn only rates Keane as a manager because he's Irish!
johngibo YPC Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 at least he has his coaching badges. unlike Southgate
Gomez Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 at least he has his coaching badges. unlike Southgate You mean those qualifications that you technically can't fail?
Bootle Buck Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 He may be the first Manager ever to be banned for fighting with his own players. I can't see his temprement standing up to managing a bunch of underacheivers at the foot of the Championship. I wish Big Niall would have stayed as a pundit. He's too nice a guy to be dragged down in the Sunderland debacle.
