From the Official site.

Goalkeeper Scott Carson has joined Premiership rivals Charlton Athletic on loan until the end of the season.

The England Under-21 international spent the final three months of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and was then called up into the England squad for the World Cup Finals.

Carson has played nine first team games for Liverpool so far since he arrived at Anfield from Luton Town in January 2005.

Probably only slight, but gotta be more of the wage bill. Wouldn't be suprised if there was a small fee on Charlton's behalf as well, as he's probably going to be a first teamer for them.

Will anyone buy of us?

very much doubt we're looking to sell him right now! Unlike Kirkland, Carson is a saleable asset, and worth keeping hold of. He just signed a new contract as well I think. Hopefully he has a really good season at Charlton

I must confess that I hadn't noticed that!

Good move for Scott & it'll be interesting to see him (& Kirkland) in the premiership week in, week out.

Good move for him but it leaves us a bit light if Reina or Dudek pick up an injury.

Have a feeling we'll see another keeper arrive. There's been a good bit of talk of that scenario if one of Jerzy or Carson left.

I think Jerzy will leave and we'll replace him. Using a youngster as 3rd choice. Not fair on Carson/Dudek to have them as 3rd choice so one of them had to leave, but get the feeling Rafa don't like Dudek so he's going as well.

Don't see why we need one, with young David Martin well regarded.

Another keeper is another commitment beyond this season on the wage bill-shouldn't we avoid having 4 keepers on the wage bill as now? (Pepe, Jerzy Carson & Kirkland) on good money?

I don't think he will, think he'd want the last year of his big money contract & cash in financially. He's already missed the World Cup, the Euros are 2 years away so I think financial reward is a big factor.

Well haven't seen enough of Martin to judge, all I'm going on is what Bascombe and others have been repeatedly saying all summer. Would imagine our target has already been lined up and all.
