He can really look the biz at times, but he does have mistakes in him.

Hope its just settling into new club/fitness kinda thing

More worried about Jack 'New Hyypia' Hobbs, than Gabriel 'New Carra' Paletta. Paletta's new to the game, Hobbs just looks terrible. One poor game - ok, two - bit worried, but 3 in a row?

How can we be judging Hobbs- he is only 17. Paletta's hardly any older and in a new continent!

It was only three or four seasons ago that there were people panning Carra, look where e is now. Give the guys a chance.

Carra's been incredible for years- even as far back as the cup treble season in 2001 and maybe before that too.

He's young. He's in a new country. He can't speak English. Don't worry.

Nail on the head.

Maybe pre-season will lower some of the expectations surrounding him.

Correct, learning the language is imperrative. Half the battle is learning to talk on the field.

Yeah, premiership strikers who don't like a good battering I'd imagine :D

I'll only be a bit concerned if either Carra or Hyypia get injured as well as Agger and it's early in the season, when Palleta in still settling in the country, and learning the basics, of our language, or rather the basics he needs to know.

Palleta will disapear into the ressies for a year, learn the language, settle in, and improve his game, with no pressure.

No, pissed off with losing 5-0, but not actually worried as I've 100% faith in Rafa.

too early to judge although I had anticipated a decline in performance after a prominent poster on another forum suggested he would be carra's partner by christmas

I remember the first time I saw Hansen in 1977 he was a mixture of good and bad. He turned out alright.

I remember first seeing Hyppia in pre-season in Ireland and thinking that he was distinctly average. He, together with Henchoz, were the best central defenders in the league that season.

Palletta is young and has not even had a season with the reserves. He needs to learn English and how his new teammates play. It is obvious that he is a tremendous talent and we are fortunate to have got him this early in his career. His performances so far have exceded my expectation of him and I am not concerned at all about him.

BAN CAMERAS AT PRE-SEASON GAMES

That is my only concern, that this happens, to stop this sort of bullchit by hysterical kids.

Gets sillier every year, can't wait for the 'real' season to start, we'll be managerless and on the verge of relegation after our first draw.
