Personally I'd keep him - see what he does in the WC and then review after Rafa has made his signings before the WC - then we'll know what role he has. Won't be the same as what we judge him on at present that's for sure.

His flurry of goals over the past month or so is a good sign only because it will mean we might get a bigger fee if he leaves.

 

I keep saying though his wages are the biggest stumbling block, none of the mid-level teams here or abroad, which is ultimately where he'll end up will be able to afford both his wages and a reasonable fee.

Cisse problems seems like a To******t but at the end of the day i think he is as good as the orginal hype if he gets moved on he will do well.

 

I hate him and love him I am sure that now if we showed faith we could see what we all desire. Move garcia and him on who are deemed luxury players minus their goals we need to sign some really good ppl to make me think its worth it.

 

I am drunk but Cisse or Garcia need to stay perhaps both some ppl say they are not good enough but most (excluding chelski) team that have wone the premeirship have had far worse players as an impact sub i say we are not going to get what he is worth keep him!

 

If he goes so what but i think we may be on verge of finding a good player if we had faith.

 

Some ppl on this board think RB cannot make mistakes he can he is human selling Cisse now might be one. I am not sure if it is but sometimes we have to question if it is his goal ratio proves even when he is s**** he does well.

Can't see how him suddenly being interested is something in his favour.

 

He ended the season well, but that doesn't make up for all the hair-tearing 'Cisse moments' during the rest of it.

I'm still not sure he'll go. He's Garcia-like in his consistency, but can play in more than one position and wades in with assists and goals. Has also been spotted defending on occasion - all of which are things Rafa rates highly.

I'd be happy for Rafa to keep him. I like him and I think he's got plenty to offer. But I dont see it happening. Rafa doesn't have much faith in him upfront and with the number if right mids we're looking at clearly doesn't see him playing that role next season. And we dont play the type of game that will ever get the most out of him. So it's surely the best for all concerned that he moves on

My opinion hasn't changed, despite the late flurry of goals. Nice lad, little nuts, but not good enough.

It all depends if Rafa can get the players/strikers he wants. If he can, I think Cisse will be sold to raise funds. If not, Cisse wil stay, probably till January or next summer.

 

I'd sell him anyway - he drives me mad.

He's a character and it would be nice to keep him. But there is no room for sentiment in football. I expect him to leave and be replaced by a better striker.

It's probably not worth keeping him. With Gonzalez coming in and a right winger or even two, he's not going to get any chances there. And Benitez doesn't play him upfront too often so he's going to get even less games I'd have thought, especially with a striker or two coming in as well.

Striker Issues Marseille Plea

 

Djibril Cisse has issued a come and get me plea to Marseille.

And the comments from the French striker are likely to prompt a response of 'come and get him' from Liverpool.

Cisse hinted after last week's FA cup Final he thought he may have played his last game for the Reds.

Now he's gone even further, encouraging the French side to make a bid for him after the World Cup.

Liverpool will still want good money for the player they paid a club record £14m in 2004, but with Benitez hoping to raise funds from player sales, a bid in the region of £8m would probably be successful.

"I would look seriously at an offer, if Marseille showed renewed interest," Cisse said.

"I have never hidden my interest in playing from Merseille.

"For me, France has two clubs. Auxerre and Marseille, who I have always dreamt about. I repeat once again, yes one day I will come and play for Marseille."

Cisse, who has been selected for the French squad for the World Cup finals, revealed that he had come close to signing for Marseille last season.

"I had very strong contacts with Marseille last summer and winter," he added.

"It was about to come to a positive solution but Liverpool were against me moving. At Marseille they thought it was me who didn't want to come but that was not at all the case."

Cisse can be sure there will be no obstacles in his way this summer, but it will take a good offer to buy him.

However, Cisse insists his future won't be resolved until after the tournament in Germany.

"I believe that after the World Cup i will make a decision over my future," he said.

"If benitez could be sure of rasing funds from Cisse's sale, it will significantly improve his own kitty as he looks to recruit two world class strikers in the closed season.

Although cisse has scored 19 goals in the past season, his all-round contribution hasn't convinced Benitez he should be part of the club's long term plans.

While Marseille will be favourites to capture Cisse, French champions Lyon will also have an interest in the striker.

Gerrard Houllier pad £14m for the player but never had the opportunity to manage him at Anfield, so it would be strange if he didn't pursue Cisse now he's available again, especially since the striker has won two of the most coveted medals in Football since moving to England."

Sooner he's gone the better. For 14 million he's been pretty poor in terms of ball control, passing. Even his much lauded goal tally isn't that impressive if you look at the teams he's scored against.

I can't see Cisse staying. Apart from everything else, he is fundamentally a lazy player. And considering his size, he really isn't particularly physical, especially when defending. I would hate playing with him because when we don't have the ball, he contributes absolutely nothing. Sissoko covers more ground in the first 5 minutes than Cisse does in 90.
