Has he played his last game for us???

 

Last year he signed a one year deal which is or has run out.

 

Personally id keep him.

 

We all know what a job he has done for us in the two finals and be-ond that too.

 

I have to admit i wasn't one of his biggest fans but the last 2 seasons have been his best with us IMO.

 

I think we would find it very hard to find a very similar player with his experience.

How willing is he though to end/ approach the end of his career playing such a bit part role - as essentially the 4th, maybe even 5th (if you count Bolo) choice in central midfield.

I believe one of the stipulations of that contract was that if he played so many games this season he would automatically earn an extra year which he did, so he'll probably be here next season.

yeah & the ManUre game in the Cup (if I remember correctly) was the game where he passed that threshhold.

 

He stayed last season knowing he'd play a reduced role - he could have gone to Notlob, but how many 25th Mays do they have? He stayed & now has a new medal. I get the impression he loves the club & he's still a very important player for us

All depends on Didi for me. If he's happy with the amount of games he's involved with. I would love to see him finish his career at Anfield. He's been simply colossus.

 

If Rafa brings in another younger central midfielder, he could leave.

Thanks for the info i was unaware of this. Great news all the same, id expect Didi to say even though he knows hes not first choice.

Actually he's right, just seen why his thread was closed, therefore no more threads about Cisse, Gerrard, Hamann, Crouch or Carragher, and certainly no more Owen threads this summer.

I'd hope he stays and plays more than 13 games, if were successful next season he certainly deserves a medal, not for what he's added to next season, but for what he's put into our success over the past 6-7 years.

When he came on in the FA cup final he was the most effective of our players in taking control of the came not creating chances but making sure we had control if we lost him next year it would prove a great loss for me he does not play enough games when we lose the midfield and our defenence seems poor did is the man to sure us up.

He loves the club, he knows he'll play a certain number of games, he's happy to stay, he's staying.

 

And I'm pretty damn sure he'll want to get his league winners' medal to complete the collection.

 

Can't believe that in the last 5 years we've won 2 League Cups, 2 FA Cups, a UEFA Cup, a European Cup and 2 Super Cups.

its not all about the amount of games you play. the quality of the games you play in are just as important. I'm sure he could have gone to a club long ago that would have played him in more than half of the champions league final if they managed to get there... fact is, Hamann has been there with us.
