Agreed, Kraft has more in common with Kroenke than the likes of H&G it seems. I can't imagine he'd be willing to fund H&G's departure however, although if they are ever forced by the banks to give us up for a song, maybe.

whilst probably true, it' a great bit of psychology for future opposing goalkeepers. That quote needs to get spread as far and wide as possible, is there A "GOALKEEPER'S WEEKLY" or similar ? David James likely does the drawings.

Nice to see some honesty in that regard. I know that feeling is shared by a lot of fans, you could feel it in the ground when he played. Never anything like the level of affection afforded to Fowler, and I think there are some who almost blame him for Fowler's fall from favour (when infact it was his injuries and subsequent failure to recapture his best form). You're a regular at games right? Do you think there's anything in that ?

I'm 110% certain he wouldn't have. (I had the same Maths teacher as Sam Allardyce)

Blackpool Oxford Hamburg Sampdoria Celtic Newcastle And in the premiership, the only other games I'll make any effort to watch other than ours, are those featuring one or two of City/Arsenal/Spurs/WestHam

Yep, even if just for a month before he breaks, even just for today. We're crying out for someone who doesn't run around in a pair of blinkers. Actually that's harsh, but the general point is valid.

I'm not suggesting for one second we should ever consider buying him. I'll tell you this much though, he is absolutely twice the player Lucas is, and seeing as Lucas is playing so much right now, then he would definitely improve us at this moment. Hopefully, the point will be moot soon enough. Without Alonso we don't have a centre midfielder with real vision, Aquilani can't get match fit soon enough for me. There are dozens of pro's in the premier league and championship who would make us better right now, just by breaking up the dour masch/lucas pairing.

I think that's what Tom and George said. I've seen Nolan in action this season at Blackpool. He was s****. Charlie Adam on the other hand, is twice the footballer Lucas is. Still not good enough for a team with title pretentions, but right now, at this moment, he'd improve our team.

made the mistake of reading the comments. first guy declares it an incisive piece detailing rafa's weaknesses and strengths. It's a hatchet job, aimed at debunking Tomkins blog (the writer blatantly admits as much). Whether you love the guy or not, there is no doubt that a large portion of the media are on a mission to get Rafa outof the premiership. Not sure why they hate him so much, but they are gunning for him big style. I found the Tomkins article to be pure PR on LFC/Rafa's persepctive, but I don't blame him for a minute, he needs to find out who's on his side and rally his troops. If you love Liverpool, but aren't sold on Rafa, then surely you still need to back him against this barrage of media hatred, which is as much at LFC as it is at Rafa. He's one of us until he either resigns or is sacked, and deserves all our support aslong he's manager. Attacking him hurts the team and th eclub, no doubt about that.

I think that's because he had a deluded notion that Liverpool fans always respect former players. He had perhaps forgotten that a not insignificant minority never really took to him in the first place. Used to piss me right off the lack of respect from some of our "fans" in the ground on matchdays. Anyway, as I say, it was surprise that affected his form, this time he's expecting a bad reception.

Thank you for clearing that up

Taking the moral high ground, and applauding him at every opportunity, would confuse the f*** out of him, and he'd play s**** the whole game. Booing will motivate him, and I really don't want to see a motivated Owen playing us tomorrow. And if he does get booed, you can't blame him if he subsequently celebrates a goal, although I don't think he would even in those circumstances.

Shamefully bringing intelligence and perspective to a juvenile thread. I agree , except I'd like to emphasise a mild injury, and that it occurs in training today so I don't have to see him in a Manc shirt at Anfield. He can then resume playing for the mancs and score as many as he likes the rest of the season in any game aslong as the mancs lose. Brought me too many good memories for me to hate him. He owes us nothing.

Sorry mate, but that's incredibly naive. People in all waks of life need pyschological motivation, regardless of their status. if you think every single professional footballer, or even every single well paid, world class footballer, should be able to motivate themselves every single game then you're wrong. There are times when certain influences can de-motivate a player, and it is then when man management comes to the fore. As said previously by another poster, different players need different things, and it's not just from the manager either, captain/senior players have their part to play here too.
