If you take Sky literally, they are saying that Liverpool will pay 17 million and will waive the 7 million owed for Crouch. This makes the bid worth 24 million!! He is definitely not worth that much. I expect Man City to come in and blow both us and Chelski out of the water. But if we are going to do what Sky is claiming, might be a different ball game.

Well, it is Chelski who have lodged a bid of 17 million for Johnson. The only way that Liverpool have got a chance is if Pompey are willing to factor in the seven million they still owe for Crouch. Otherwise, it is the likes of Distin and Tuncay for us this summer gentlemen.
