Carra today (and in many games) and our defending this season
Farmer's Tan replied to _00_deathscar's topic in Liverpool FC
i thought skrtel being played on the right was a disaster,he was very poor,i didnt think carra was as bad tbh. -
he's been my motm a few times lately, think he has risen to the occasion in the league while others have disappeared, now he's doing it in the champs league which is great. Now for him its all aout consistency, whether he can keep this level of performance till the end of the season, then we have a really good player on our hands, almost like a new signing.we need a few more with his attitude.

not quite sure what you mean by that, unless you're being sarcastic..

Disgusted to see so many 'Rafa-out' heads around
Farmer's Tan replied to Mr Makaveli's topic in Liverpool FC
if we started in 5th and went on a good run and ended up in second and in with a shot at the title i think most people would be creamin themselves, but because we through away a healthy lead its the end of the world, too many skysports pundit posters for me.At the start of the season what did most people hope for or expect?did you expect to win the title, well if you did you might not be tuned into reality, how about a shot at the title, considering we have been fighting for 4th and 3rd places for the last 4 seasons, this season we have been top for a long time and slipped to second because like it or lump it united are the best team in the country, thats not rafa's fault. whiskey has been sitting pretty building united up for the last 20yrs,they drop 20mil on a newborn without blinking, for us its record signing.rafa's up against a brilliant manager with huge resourses and a s*** ton of experience,he has the backing of the club and doesn't have to deal with bs from glazier or anyone else.we go top the club and fans implode,we slip to second and its rafa out, running battles behind the scenes as well as on the stands, none of this is conducive to winning a title.there is simply too much bulls*** going on the win anything. what i'd love to see from rafa providing he's still with us next season is to throw the kitchen sink at teams when we are drawing, like we did against city,if we had done that against the hulls and stokes and and the others we would be in a far better position now i feel. -
we have surpassed both chelsea and arsenal and we may even nick the title.the fact that we can be finally considered title contenders, compared to running just for a champions league spot, with one or two signings that prove to be quality we have a huge chance of winning it next season if we dont this.

i didnt realise that what lil luis said a couple of years ago was equal to retirement from playing football altogether.for the record, players say things all the time, micheal owen never left u know

you mean david silva?would love to see him at th club, but i'd settle for lil luis.

United's next 3 league fixtures before we play them
Farmer's Tan replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
a couple of things have knocked back,1)torres being injured for so long,2)keane's failure to score anywhere near enough goals in his absence and 3)players like babel not rising to the occasion, matter of fact regressing.to win we need torres to stay injury free and bang on form for rest of season, fringe players to step up and score goals in games, benny seems to be rising to the occasion, has played very well in his last few games, lucas is another who needs to at least up his iq a few points,he has had a few good games though when used.we also could use a few goals from set pieces/corners,only sami seems to score from crosses into the box, carra, agger and skrtel need to chip in. -
exactly, buying someone who in the end doesn't work out is part of football,i dont feel its a major attack on benitez to say he got this one wrong and could never understand the big rush to cover it up.we take it on the chin and keep moving on,we got back alot of the money we were paying so hopefully we have that in the bank for summer, good luck to him at spurs and really thats all there is to it.
-
why does that matter though?if rafa would have only gone to 18 instead of 20,we still wouldn't have had the money to buy barry without selling alonso.he wanted keane got him,it was a mistake and he got rid,i cant see why parry is the bad guy in this, there are too many excuses being made for rafa about keane.
-
he's great but he'll be injured in the next few games and be out for a month, dont know why but thats what has been happening since he came here probably before it also.personally i thought benny was motm, involved in almost everything made a few great runs one of which should have been a goal, just a pity he didnt cap off his performance with one.
-
looks like a 9 with a 1 in front of it...
-
u sure it was up?i dont remember seeing it and am almost certain one of the commentators said that there was no flag up to save his blushes.
-
i dont think he deserves his place in the team atm,he's low on confidence may have even broken(he's defo close to it).making all the wrong decisions, things not coming off and missing open goals like today's only show that.i do think however that he could still make it here with us,i think he could really come on if he got a run of games and began to have his confidence return,so what do u do in that situation?we cant really afford to play him as first choice while he's so ineffective.
-
agree, benni was my motm and ihas been polaying well for a few games now, determined and confident.as for aurelio,if he could just manage to stay fit he could be a real player for us.
-
we won ffs what more do u want?3points and all that...
-
benni was the best player on the pitch agger aurelio, played a few poor crosses near the end,its why agger nicked him to second.
-
is that who that b*****d was,i was commenting to the wife about it,f*** me,he could hardly contain himself when pompey scored the prick.
-
i dont love kuyt but give him credit when its due and he was great when he came on today.
-
i am also, got the feeling it will be entertaining game

when we played chelsea earlier this season and beat them comfortably(as comfortable as a 1-0 can be)i said on here that scolari looked like he was lost just doesn't have any answers and i think thats still the case now, neither him or his team look like they have what it takes to win the league and they wont while he's in charge.i wouldn't bet against mourinho being back at chelsea next season.
-
personally i feel he didnt fit in with us and playing well at spurs,a team where a lot less is excepted is no guarentee of success.he tried to make the step up to a club where the pressure is on,where he might not get his place even if playing well and tbh i dont think he handled it well at all. i'm not a lover or hater of keane,i would have loved him to do well for the club but he didnt and was sold for what i think are 2 reasons,1)he wasn't doing anymore for the team than what we already have at the club, benitez realised he got it wrong and 2)whats the point in keeping someone who isn't contributing anything more than others in his position especially when there are clubs willing to shell out for him?.the way i see it is benitez rekons that either babel, ngog or kuyt would do just as good a job as keane would do in torres absence so the real question is why keep keane?
-
keane was a mistake, like it or lump it.he had plenty of chances to prove his worth,he didn't and is sold for "hopefully"something close to what we paid for him.All thats left now is to hope that money goes toward a player that fits into our system and style of play and has quality(preferably a right sided midfielder) i cant understand all the moaning about him,he wasn't good enough for us.lets hope the money is put to better use this time.imo we got away lite by selling him so quickly at not too muc of a loss.
