  3. yeah, personally i think the only thing stopping him from moving is rafa not sanctioning any deal(or madrid not matching rafa's valuation). As soon as rafa gives the OK he's gone.
  4. why doesn't he come out and say it then?i want to stay at liverpool or something to that effect, surely not that hard to do is it?
  5. well as long as there is 4,if there were only 3 it would be a problem....
  6. for some to say that xabi is locked away in the hills and has little too no knowledge of whats being said about him is a bit ridiculous,he's very aware of whats happening, compare him to torres for example, torres cant come out fast enough to quench rumors about him leaving xabi on the other hand is playing his cards much closer to his chest, why?whats stopping him from saying i want to stay at liverpool?just because he said so 2months ago doesn't hold now, things change perez wasn't president of that s*** house and he wasn't making any attempt to sign xabi at that point.my reckoning is that he would like to leave(he definitely would have said something to the contrary of he didn't)i think last season(trying to pawn him off to anyone who would bid the right amount of cash) was the death knell for xabi with us ive always felt it.i'm sure he will continue here with us if the deal doesn't go through(the more i think about it the more i suspect this is the reason he is remaining tight lipped)and do a good job but whats the point in keeping a player that would rather be somewhere else, probably wont sign a contract extension and will probably leave for less money next season.
  7. how do you know though?
  8. this, its all gone quiet, which is usually a sign that its done and dusted.
  9. who decides if the price is too much,us?monetarily speaking, yeah its a lot of money but if he's the man rafa thinks is right for the job and he comes in and does a good job it'll be money well spent.just because it didnt work out for him at chelsea doesn't mean s***.rafa decides if the price is worth it and he says it is then its not too expensive.in order to push on we need that little bit extra, there are no great leaps to make now in quality(sure there are always some extremely good footballers who would make a big improvement in any team, but not many that are available and even less we can afford),johnson is an improvement over arby imo and besides we really need a player in that position so 18mill and thats that side covered for years to come, hopefully by the time we need more cover there maybe some of the reserves are pushing through.i think from now on its big money for small improvements.
  10. why do you think any fan would "want us to be in a financial mess" and what he says sounds a whole lot more believable than what you're saying, unfortunately.
  11. "please god let someone come in and take this b*****d off my hands",i reckon.

  13. i thought babel was the quickest in the league, maybe he should have stuck to athletics as he just doesn't have the brains for football(terrible pity)
  14. exactly,as mentioned he has a couple of seasons left at his peak where he can run all over the park but thats not what he does anymore anyhow, the position he's in now is one that he can play well into his 30's and still be as good as he is today.
  15. "survive" really doesn't mesh with no19
  16. well obviously the fee woul suggest we sell to chelsea, but then again we are in direct competition with chelsea, for the league and any national title,it could be that selling alonso to them was the man they needed to win the title next season it also sets the bar for other teams who will think they can come in and buy our best players,if we sell to madrid we only have to worry about them in the champs league.tbh i'd sell to madrid,f*** chelsea or man u or any of our direct competition.
  17. the only thing that stopped gerrard going was gerrard, not the club,i wouldn't be so confident personally of where alonso could end up.Point being he should never be sold.
  18. if we are going to sell him i assume it would be to the highest bidder(if alonso is ok with them)who's to say it wont be chelsea?you know as much about where alonso would like to go and play football as i do i'd wager which is nil.
  19. if we sell alonso to chelsea you can throw in the towel on next season,a f***in disgrace if it happens.it's bad enough selling him to mdrid and taking in barry who i rate but is s**** in comparison to alonso.f*** barry i'd take danny murphy back in a heartbeat over him.if we lose alonso it will be a bigger mistake than any we made in the last transfer season.you dont seel your best player last season and expect to progress, just doesn't happen.
  20. how could that be,football didnt start till nearly 10years later...
  21. i was honestly saying the very same thing to the wife, they got nothing cause they were nevr in a million years good enough, they got the league cause teams believed their hype and felt they were beaten before a ball was kicked,no dodgy decisions today either, there couldn't have been as united were no where near the barca box.shown up for what they really are a good team with some good players but f*** all else.
  22. if we are going to sell xabi(which i am totally against) then now is the time,he's had a great season and still neck deep in a contract,we hold the cards which means at he very least we should put his price through the roof(like teams do for us)and make them pay more than he is worth.if they dont they can f*** off as we dont want to sell, barry maybe be a good midfielder but he's a poor man's alonso.
  23. true maybe,as he mentions he has a few friends playing for them and if you're like me then you like to see your friends do well, why should he be any different, its not like we have a stake in it.
  24. i couldn't give a s**** who he wants to win, what difference does it make?
  25. rafa does not like fergy, same as mourinho and its personal,so why should he"pretend" to say good things about him, that would make him pretentious and rafa is straight as an arrow.if he doesn't like you your f***ed and he wont make any bones about it,and i'm all for it,f*** the pc lets do the right thing brigade,we are all human, whats wrong with not being able to stand a guy and letting him know without the bs to follow,i'm delighted he didn't congratulate fergy, why should he,i wouldn't either(if i was in his position)
