I have to agree and its been bugging me for so long why Gerrard takes our corners. He is such an attacking threat either in the box or sitting just outside it ready to pounce on any balls that come back out. Gerrard is basically our 2nd striker and I think if he didn't take the corners, he would at least get anther 3-5 goals a season.

Rafa should now install a media ban for himself as he is turning into something of a laughing stock. Im starting to see him as an attention seeker and loves having himself in the news. I am sick to death of seeing the club on the news, in the paper, nearly every single day - can we not just keep the head down and get on with winning football matches. Our respected club that kept our business behind closed doors is now turning into a media circus and Rafa has proclaimed himself as the ringmaster. This was supposed to be the season we finally challenge for the title and after been given his 3 20million pound player (Masch, Torres, Keane) he has no excuses and he now has to coach, motivate, and instill an agressive winning mentality into the players he bought in order to challenge for the league. I would love for some to pull him aside and just repeat - a draw is only 1 f***ing point, only f*** 1 point - go out to win and win convincingly.

Kuyt needs a break, but Babel's head is just not there and it could be the end for him. Here's hoping he can contribute at the end of games when he comes on as a sub - but I can't see him being in the first 11. Personally I think Riera should be on the left, and I would prefer to give El Zhar a go on the right - at least he gives a different option, is lively, and is prepared to attack the ball and beat players. Then Kuyt comes back in refreshed.

With all due respect to you and I would normally agree with your point, but the people who have mentioned Houghton and Whelan are really telling the truth. The 2 in question are normally on Irish Radio or Irish TV and they really do seem to have an issue with the club - either that they were treated very badly or indeed are bitter about something that has happened to them. I garner this opinon from watching them, listening to them on a weekly basis and this is coming from an Irish Red who idolised these particular couple of player when I was watching them grow up, so it really does pain me to say that they definitely have an "issue" with the club or our manager. Its awful to see and hear and even the more shocking the Whelan used to be our captain and spent most of his career with us. Great Players, but definitely have specific issues with the clubs as "pundits"

Thats what Im concerned about too, and the fact that Rafa is the one constantly doing it. Why is there always a circus and why are we always in the news, why can't we be quietly winning games and picking up 3 points while mounting a serious title challenge. We should have a media ban for 12 weeks in order to allow (especially our manager) to focus on the title challenge.

We all think this is sickening and we have mentioned that it would feed Africa, but we really are being hypocritical considering we pay Torres and Gerrard over 100,000 a week. Back in the 80's we were regularly broke the transfer record to secure the services of players, and back in the day were also the first club to pay a footballer 10,000 pound a week. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

The focus should be on why he chose to spend that money and then chooses not to play the player. Serious questions should be asked.
