Our refusal to press the ball, why? Must be some reason behind this.

Ha ha.

I thought it was a combined bid from Reliance Industries and Sahara Group. I don't know.

Ambani's been hovering for at least two years. A month ago he stated this exact intention. "The deal for acquisition of the Liverpool Football Club was in our consideration in the recent past. However, after considering all related factors, we have decided not to go ahead with it, at least for the time being." Hopefully he is waiting pounce.

He'll have a blinding season for Juve, come back here next season [metaphorically speaking of course] the player he should have been when we first signed him and then we can sell him back to Juve for somewhere near recovering our outlay. Mission accomplished.

Additionally, this is not exactly a default situation per se. Payments are being made. Banks/Financial Institutions are wary of taking overtly hostile steps for fear of creating precedents that could hurt in other instances and cause more damage in the overall scheme of things. Courts have made rulings in the past that have hurt them several times over, i.e Deed of Postponements for Third party Rights as well as claims for breach duty of care in tort as well as contract claims. Expalins why they are pushing matters to Barcap and just say sell. Far better just to marginalise this situation and try to contain in within itself. Besides, they are not doing too badly out of this financially at present in any event. It's almost as if we are asking them to do us a favour when in reality this is just not going to happen. The only question is how do they intend to extract themselves from what is an ultimately failing set up.

Not at all. But when it comes to the crunch, which way will they jump?

The more you look at the more apparent it becomes that the 'loan' of 144 million from Cayman is the fulcrum in this. If RBS do the right thing then H&G lose this in all probability. It's the closest thing they have to equity. Comes down to RBS again. Have they got the bottle to pull ther plug and risk legal action? Don't think they have. Safer course is for them to restructure/refinance.

Rafa – Revered, up and coming manager, with proven track record. Resolute and purposeful. Prepared to stand up for what he believes in. Roy – Ageing, mediocre manager coming to the twilight of his career and in his current position already developing a ‘rabbit in headlight’ syndrome.

Was he booed much?

This is how you say go f*** yourselves with class; England coach Fabio Capello has hit back at some of his critics in the press. Capello has withstood heavy criticism from all sections of the media following England's poor World Cup campaign. And Capello lead England to a 4-0 win over Bulgaria in their opening Euro 2012 qualifier on Friday. And the Italian insists that some of his more fearsome critics should take a look at themselves, saying: "When you shave in the morning you have to look in the mirror and ask is what you wrote about this man correct or not. "I can't change what people write. I understand it has to be done. "I look at myself and I am sure what I brought was good. "I try to do my job really well but sometimes I make mistakes. "When I started my career as a player I had a lot of big injuries. When I was 20 the newspapers said I was finished. "I worked really hard and stayed strong. This time it is the same." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6358796,00.html

What is the purpose and construction of the loan of 145 million between Cayman and Kop Holdings? Did Cayman ever pay it? The only payment from Cayman I can see is 21.3 million for player purchases in the Director's Report year end 31 July 2008. http://www.scribd.com/doc/27118453/Liverpool

The total nutshell.

Pleat is champion, bar none. "Marseille needed to score first, and that never looked likely once Liverpool had taken the lead” “A game is not won until it is lost.” “Eighty per cent of teams who score first in matches go on to win them. But they may draw some. Or occasionally lose.” “We are now in the middle of the centre of the first half.”

The b*****d are going to somehow refinance. You just know it.

Light at the end of tunnel. The nasty horrible foreign manager has at last gone, taking his horrid zonal marking, rotation fixation and portly appearance with him. We now have an English manager who at least understands the game and his players comfort requirements. We may not challenge for the Europa league every year but who cares, that sounds a bit foreign anyway. At least Sky will be nice to us.

7th. Campaign then spun as a success and we did not do any worse than the previous season.

I know what you mean. I have been thinking along similar lines. There's no point going on about how much of a liar Hicks is and repeating his promises of January about how big this summers spending will be. The fact is that if it had been bonanza summer in the transfer market then the position of Hicks must have still been entrenched. The fact that is has been such a disaster suggests something serious has given way. Broughton/Purslow etc. must be aware how comical this has appeared to the fans but perhaps realise that an imminent annoucement the H&G are gone and credible new owners are in will make this transfer windows happenings an instant and forgotton thing of the past.
