He reminded me of Collins John who did the same thing against us a few days ago.

Some scenarios: A proven but costly striker who might come available in the summer could be Trezeguet of Juventus. If Podolski goes to Bayern we should go for Roy Makaay. Berbatov (Leverkusen) would be a good signing. Another options which might interest Rafa: Diego Milito (Saragossa) Diego Tristan (Deportivo) And a big no-no to Klose: He's playing brilliantly this season but he's not the striker we need for the Premier League. Owen coming back would be ideal.

Official view of the first half: REDS TRAIL AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY Despite dominating for long periods Liverpool have failed to convert their possession into goals at The Valley and are amazingly trailing 2-0 at the break. Two goals against the run of play in the final three minutes of the first half have left the Reds reeling in South East London. Djibril Cisse, Fernando Morientes and Peter Crouch all went close for the visitors during an otherwise impressive opening 45 minutes. Marcus Bent opened the scoring from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Jerzy Dudek and Liverpool's misery was doubled on the stroke of the whistle when Luke Young added a second. I can hear a pundit saying: "He's still young"

As there's so much discussion about my mother tongue I had to think about a sign on the wall of The Albert. There, fans from around the world are being greeted in different languages. The German version on this sign names supporters as "ventilator" or "ventilatores" - is this meant to be ironic or just a stupid, stupid mistake to speak of football fans in the same manner as hair driers?

The one the czech fans sing while jumping in sync with the words. I don't know the lyrics but it ends with something like "hoop, hoop, hoop". In Austria most chants are s***. It's only about, abuse, abuse. Hence I don't go to footie matches very often as the atmosphere is filled with hate. No good feelings there. But there's also a funny one: "Schiri, wir wissen wo dein Auto steht" (It means: Referee, we know where you parked your car...)

Working only 200 metres away from the old SS-Headquarter (now a big garage) maybe I will stumble across some evidence on my way home And wasn't Hitler in Liverpool for the photo-shooting of "Sgt. Pepper's"?

According to press reports Real want to give the club a new face. On their wishlist: Ibrahimovic (top-priority for 45 Mio Euros) Podolski (1. FC Köln) A. Cole (Arsenal) Alonso (Liverpool) Poulsen (Schalke 04) Raul Garcia (Osasuna)

Rafa's cool transfer philosophy: "Out of the blue"
-
Beware! Formation included... As much as I like Gerrard in the middle, for the time being I want him to play at RM. The plan behinds Rafa's transfer dealings might be, that he will use wide midfielders in an advanced role and playing more often with one striker, depending on the opposition. Gerrard, Garcia and Kewell could interchange their positions and give us more possibilities, for sure. Now on to the formation, which - on paper - could produce some beautiful football. -------------------------------------Reina------------------------- Finnan/Kromkamp-----Carragher----Hyypiä/Agger-----Riise ----------------------Alonso--------Siissoko--------------------- -------Gerrard---------------------------------------------------- ---------------------Garcia------------------------------Kewell-- -----------------------------Crouch/Morientes------------------- All we need now is a striker, who can put the chances away or/and our midfielders to continue scoring. With so many individual talent out there, this could be another way forward. Barcelona's style of breaking down opposition comes to mind. The Downside: Crouch and Morientes look comfortable with another striker at their side.

I love formation threads Team for Portsmouth: --------------------Reina-------------------- Kromkamp-----Agger----CarrAgger---Riise Sissoko------Gerrard----Hamann-----Kewell ------------Crouch-----Morientes---------- Subs: Carson, Traore, Warnock, Alonso, Cisse Team for Birmingham: -----------------Reina------------------ Finnan---Carragher---Hyypiä----Warnock Gerrard---Alonso-----Sissoko----Riise -----------Crouch------Cisse--------- Subs: Carson, Agger, Kromkamp, Kewell, Morientes

Nearly correct - it's "Bas-ee-an". Apart from that it's looking good

Thanks for the info THAT Fernando Redondo?!

I agree with you. And as you already stated above, the times we're trying to play one-touch football without hitting the ball out of bounds has increased dramatically.

Wouldn't Alves be a leftsided version of Riise? I heard that he can be used at RM and RB and therefore free up space (Josemi leaves, no RM-specialist needed) in the squad by playing both roles.
