    neither side great, but madrid done well tactically. barca reminiscent of a few seasons ago under tata. think both barca and bayern the way they play both susceptible to pace on break.

    it's probably true of south america as a whole, generally, but brazilan clubs have had a bit more investment sporadically. can't remember the exact scenario at corinthans, but think joorabchian was heavily involved there at the time, hence tevez and mascherano passing through.

    there was a souvenir pullout in one of the papers. just one of the more extreme examples of a phenomenon that has been going on for decades. even those with a more reasonable perspective can't help themselves annoiting the future of English football. and yeah they'd have been panned if they'd lost badly.

    the spurs result convincing, but also been a bit overrated i think given there's a fair drop off when likes of kane, alli and dembele aren't starting. possibly played some weakened sides themselves, but dortmund finished behind krasnodar in the group.

    not sure they've got more talent than before, more options and more balance maybe. definitely more energy. but you don't see many tournament games played in that manner. naturally slower and more cagey. personally think they might struggle to press like that in real thing. dier a find though. even here england might have been 3 down, but for a bad call.

    england won't be able to play like this in summer tournament and will be found out by cleverer sides. germany will be better.

    alli presumably supposed to be picking up khedira. good player, discipline a clear issue though.

    barca by far the best team for me. but atletico have chances because they are the team of this generation that can absorb most defensively. bayern suicidally open to a good counter attack, think they may be a bit overrated. might put PSG ahead of them. madrid, talented, but not enough of a team you'd think.

    tough draw, and they'll be favourites, but not sure they're quite as formidable as some of the recent hype suggests. spurs side they beat easily not the one regularly winning in PL, either in terms of key players or apparent motivation.
