De Gea is a much better goal keeper than he's given credit for. Certainly not deserving of being lumped in with the others you mention.

The point is that taking Suso off had the effect of depriving Suarez any real service, they could do what they liked after that. We didn't need every player to be a big and strong like their lads, we dont have any of those kinds of players anyway, we just needed to courage to play our own game at a high tempo and be confident that it would come good. We gave in after about 7 minute and they rightly took us to the cleaners

I thought Suso looked like he was the only one capable of threading a ball into Suarez. After he went off our tactics reverted to Giving it to Suarez 60 yards from goal and hoping he do it all himself. Enrique likes to beat his man with the ball to the touchline before launching it to the halfway line where it was picked up every single time by a Stoke player. I agree that we should have had a third center back in there.

Pragmatism is good management. Our two best managers since Kenny's championship winning teams were pragmatic managers and won us some great pots. I don't think Agger and Skrtel have improved by the way, and Downing has a long way to go before even half way justifying his fee. Enrique seems like the new John Arne Riise, but without the once a season free kick goal. He's equally as thick and one footed.

There has been more s***ting out of tackles in this game than any Liverpool game I can remember. It's been way too easy for Stoke.
