I thought Alves was an attacking full back - Rafa is rumoured to be signing both a left and a right full back and with KromKamp set to leave in the summer it could still be viable that we sign Alves. 2 quality players for each position - Riise and Aurellio for the left and Finnan and Alves for the right.

I will reserve my judgement til after the Cup Final.

Exactly what i think - you get people saying spend £15 million on Joaquin or SWP yet neither of them are going to offer anything better then Gerrard who i think as been superb out there and allowed the midfield partnership of Alonso and Momo to blossom. I expected us to go back in for Victor as a cheap cover for Stevie but would much prefer Pennant as imho Victor would only be here for the cash. Hopefully the cash outlay wont be too high and anything around the £5 million mark for me would be great as like its been posted allows more cash (+ cash we would get from sales) for strikers.

Paletta has a Italian passport so the permit should be no problem - if he does go on loan then its purely for the fact that he wont get much 1st team action next season.
