Which bit did you not hear? Did you not hear about the money getting redirected into offshore accounts? Or was it the attempted sacking of the board to stop the sale by appointing cronies and family members? Or did you not hear about the plans should the club be held in default on the repayment of the loads had RBS not pushed their decision through? In what manner would you imagine that the outstanding amount would have been paid? Do you think it would have been repaid out of the shinging, golden goodness of Gillette and Hick's hearts? do you think they'd have willingly and happily taken millions of dollars of debt onboard and then paid them out of their own bank accounts? Or do you think it would be more likely that they would have sold resources and land belonging to the club so they could still walk away with a profit? Do you think they cared more about Liverpool FC or do you think they cared more about money? There were plenty of stories going around at the time. Some believeable. Some less so. I don't know many people that thought Gillette and Hicks were in this situation for the good of the club and for an opportunity to show the world their caring lovable side. The very fact that in their final hours at the club they attempted to move all account movements to a state in the US (SO they could be legally hidden) and the fact that Hicks himself said ""I can't go into the details but I can confirm the funds were available to pay off Royal Bank of Scotland entirely but between Royal Bank of Scotland, the chairman and the employees that conspired against us, they would not let us" Why do you think that the RBS (Who wanted their money back) and the chairman and the 'Employees' that 'conspired against us' were all 'in cahoots' - was it because they didn't want to see the debt paid off? Or was it because they knew full well exactly where those monies were going to come from and in the case of RBS (With money still outstanding) they knew that the club would no longer be viable once it's assets had been sold to pay the debt off? Which seems more likely?
