Yes but those teams don't factor in playing in cup competitions, no one expects everton or villa to succeed in any cups and they haven't. In the euro vase they generally put out their b teams, and they've not been any great shakes in the domestic cups. We get pilloried if we don't make a good showing in any cup. The effect of this is that there is no requirement for Villa or the bitters to have any squad depth, which they dont. This means they can throw all their eggs in one basket. We need to have 2 decent players in every position to succeed (not to say we do at the moment) which restricts out ability to spend well for 1 person in 1 position.
