Players we were linked to but never signed
floyd the barber replied to libero 's topic in Liverpool FC
hate to say it cos hes now a manc..........but we had a chance of getting Christiano Ronaldo for half the price the mancs paid... A quailty player, and just turned 21...........would`ve been an awesome signing for us. -
amazing really, watching him in the highlights...just look at some of the positions he takes up...a natural and something we have lacked...well since fowler and owen(oh but owen isnt a natural striker acording to hoddle )
-
isnt agger 6ft 4 ?
-
agree he did have a decent game, yet he never looks like hes going to score.....his link up play is excellent, as is crouch....and having both in the same side doesnt work for me.
-
yet still looked more dangerous than a fully fit morientes or cisse
-
cmon he looked alot slimmer than what ive seen him during his spells with man city and leeds.....of course he has alot of work to do,lets hope he stays free of injury and works hard on the training pitch.
-
well he certainly looks in good shape, possibly the best shape hes been in since the 97-98 season.... Couldnt believe how skinny he looked.. Lets hope pako can work him on the training ground to get his fitness up so he can really make a difference for us in the coming months...
-
well first time ive seen that cribs episode... oh dear, kewell and his misses really do come across as a couple of morons.... Sorry harry ya a good player sometimes, but really are a bit of a t*** ...
-
surely usher was only repeating what many had been saying on the forums....i remember the stick heskey was getting, far worse than either diouf or cisse thats for sure... anyway think its stupid this has turned into a thread discussing the merits of a certain fanzine.. if you like it, you buy it.. if you dont....well its quite obvious that you dont buy it. Is is called a "Fanzine" for christs sake!!

the upcoming home against birmingham is possibly one in which we can rest sami or jamie...possibly both, we have some massive games coming up and now with us drawing the mancs in the fa cup, its another tough game, one in which i doubt any of our first team will be rested.. Birmingham at home is an ideal opportunity...yes its a must-win game, like all games are........but surely we have the quality in back up to beat them...

Noticed this since has returned from japan, but jamie carragher has seemed slugish, off the pace and tired in recent weeks. Certainly the worst displays from him i can think of within the past 2 years.....yesterday we saw him panic at times, get turned easily and generally look tired the whole game, it was the same against luton.. hyypia on the other hand had an assured display and for me has looked the better center back in recent weeks.. Lets be honest, its no suprise jamie is tired, hes been a consistent fixture in our side for a good 3 seasons now and of course has been playing about 2 games every week since july.. Personally think he needs a rest, the question is....will Rafa do it??? do we have anyone who can actually replace him?? Would Agger and Hyypia together work??
-
gotta admit, i watched this earlier too!! oh and the treble dvd with access to all his goals!!
-
deportivo winger Victor, is expected to arrive in liverpool this sunday for a medical and complete his move to liverpool.. hes been pulled out of deportivos squad this weekend... source.....All over the web right now!!
-
no, kewell is a friggin winger and should stay there
-
just keep repeating... 14million pounds 14million pounds
-
Still trophys do all the talking and he hasnt won much since being at utd...in fact the rest of the side has possibly suffered.. Im Still to be convinced that paying tons of money for one player has huge benefits... Even at Real madrid with the amount they have spent, an awful side at present and havent been the same since they let go of their unsung hero makelele... Of course if you are chelsea and decide to spent tons of money on many players it is different.
-
halfway through the 2nd half, we switched sissoko and gerrard......from that point on, we lost the iniitive and let the mancs come at us...big mistake.

Should we break bank for Walcott
floyd the barber replied to Mike 's topic in General Football Discussion
Fact is, for every 10 called wonderkid`s, there is only 1 Wayne Rooney....and at least Rooney was able to prove himself in the premiership over 2 seasons.. Walcott has only been playing a few months, in the championship........massive gamble by arsenal and no suprise whatsoever that we didnt wanna pay such a ridiculous fee. -
errrrrrrrrrrrrm not yet, methinks he still needs to prove his worth and continue to perform how he has been this past month for the rest of the season, then we can talk about an extension.

Should we break bank for Walcott
floyd the barber replied to Mike 's topic in General Football Discussion
suprised anyone thought we were seriously interested, look at all the promising youngsters from england through the years....we`ve been linked with nearly everyone yet haven't signed a "wonderkid" since Wayne Harrison. In fact, even the many youngsters we`ve signed from abroad in the past 10-15 years generally ended up not fulfilling their potental.. Cant think of one we have signed who has been a genuine success.. anyone....? -
---------------reina------------- finnan----carra-hyypia---riise- ---------alonso--hamann------- -gerrard-----------------kewell ----------cisse--crouch---------
-
seems a bit harsh to be honest, personally feel crouch has been quiet past 2 games but to say hes reverted to type is way off the mark.. No doubt on my mind rafa will buy a predator of sorts be it within these next 2 weeks or the summer.......but for now, our set up and team is doing excellent, would buying a natrual goalscorer actually change our play??? i believe it would...the way we are set up isnt for playing balls through the defence, we play generally with our strikers backs to goal....bringing our midfield into play...and its working a treat right now. So our strikers are not scoring many...doesnt matter if we continue to win games.
