excellent player, though really seems to struggle for fitness.....he normally goes completely missing in the 2nd half after an astonishing first 45 mins.. Might be worth a bid, cos in 2-3 years no doubt he`ll be one of the best players in the world and be worth a fortune.

looking really good in spain this season...seems to have bulked up a bit and scored 2 this weekend.. cant help but feel hes a far better option than kuyt or voronin....and would certainly have had his fair share of chances this season.. Anyway its all very good in hindsight.....still im glad hes doing well as i always thought he was a tidy player and was dissapointed we sold him...

nice guy, works hard..not good enough as a striker......so not good enough for us.. really as simple as that, we can probably get 6-8million for him in the summer...id sell and im sure the majority on here would agree.

reina,masch,gerrard and torres all our true world class players who should be on our first team sheet every week and would likely get in to the first team of any other premiership side....maybe world side carra unfortunatly for me...has slipped of the list as i just think hes not the same player he was 2 seasons ago....

nooo. lucas has been tidy...and is certainly more comftable than you think...he also played for the Brazil in the week...the kid is pure class

we look so much better when gerrard is allowed to float.....makes such a difference i like the look of lucas and masch in the middle....and babel is doing well on the left

really.. i disagree and feel we have decent options at central midfield with lucas,masch and alonso.....and not enough quality out wide.. pennant----gerrard---masch------? benyoun-gerrard--masch------? or gerrard-masch--alonso/lucas-----?

id say its that when he plays central midfield...he is inconsistent. Everytime hes played out wide hes been outstanding for me...

well for me he works far better when given freedom...at times it felt like masch was motoring all over the place to cover for gerrard who was out of position many times throughout the match.. nah hes a far better option on the right, as we have masch,lucas and alonso all good enough to play in the middle....and to be honest, gerrard is far better on the right than benyoun and pennant..........plus gerrard is the best crosser of a ball at the club.

Firstly.....please rafa `cmon...any chance that crouch can get an extended run in the side??......peter and torres as the game went on, were starting to find each other....and looks a promising partnership.........c`mon rafa do it.. Now Masch who i thought was sensational today and was all over the pitch, his passing an underrated part of his game...nearly at alonso class at times...and certainly has more to his game than xabi.. Gerrard for me.....was being carried by masch today, so many occassions when gerrard misplaced a pass and one occassion gave a horrible hospital pass to masch who was lucky to come away unhurt.. Mash is well worth the 17million and the guy is only 23.........now if only gerrard would move right, we`d play masch and lucas or alonso with a top drawer left winger coming in the summer..

i suppose i could add voronin...although myself forgetting about him tells its own story.. voronin - showed signs of being a decent player....though not good enough for the level we need.....he`ll be gone in the summer

so we are past the half way point of the season, how would we rate the summer signings....at least the 4 major ones torres - huge expectation..of which he has not only filled..but surpassed...the price tag doesnt seem to have hindered him one bit...along with gerrard, he is a rare matchwinner in our squad..that not only can step up for the big games...but also the smaller games too.....can he improve? of course....his first touch is lacking on occassion though tends to make up for it with his pace..........definetly a plus point in a strange season babel - well 11million is still alot of money and we have seen flashes of brilliance....though tends to go missing when he starts games...hes looked far better when coming off the bench and has scored a decent tally of goals so far......is he a striker? or a winger? or a linkman? hopefully we shall find this out soon.........next season will be the big test..i gotta be honest and say ive been dissapointed by him and expected a bit more lucas - came with a big reputation and has certainly shown evidence on occassion as to why he is rated so highly....was excellent in the derby, and scored his first goal(superb goal it was) last weekend....certainly one for the future...could prove to be a major coup benyoun - decent first season.....shows his quality when given space against the lesser sides....seems to struggle when against true top defenders...i honestly dont see that changing, a great squad player...maybe not the answer though if we want to challenge seriously

hmmm well he wasnt very good for villa and couldnt get in the starting line up for lyon..... and he definetly wasnt good enough for us.....no more to be said.
