We play less counter attacking footy now, compared to the GH era, when that was all we did. Rafa's style is more possesion based, and we pass it around the box and then get the cross in. Counter attacking footy is something Rafa usually applies when we are already up, trying to kill the game. Normally you wont see us counter attack a lot when the game is still even since there is a higher risk of losing the ball. Fowler may be washed up, slower and half injured in your opinion. I saw him in a few games for City last season, at the end, and he was very good. Awareness, finding space in the box, making smart little runs and playing others into good positions. Yes, he was slow as f***, but he is a proper footballer, not primarly an athlethe like Heskey. And it shows. On a free and a pay as you play deal for 6 months, I fail to see how it would be too bad a deal. He could offer something different than the current strikers imo, and is more suited to the possesion based style around the box, getting crosses in, than the hoof over the top that used to be under GH. And GH f***ed him up, and then he f***ed up himself too. Not genius on either part. As for the marketing value of signing Fowler it would be significant I believe. It would also be a nice decoy for Parry if we fail to bring in a right midfielder, not that I am overly concerned about that at the moment, this transfer window. That could keep some of the fans quiet until the summer. Biased Fowler Rant Over....for now
