  8. Baker's 606 is the only one I will listen to on the way back from the match. Yes, he's comes over as a real tw*t when spouting his Rafa b*llocks but that's about 0.1% of the programme so I can put up with that. All other 606s, full of know-nothing idiots spouting shyte about games they've listened to on the radio, are completely unlistenable.

    Dirk

Absolutely. If we can get a player in who is worthy of Kuyt's place then I will be very happy because he will have to be some player.
  13. Agreed, though I'm really looking forward to this game. This is what it's all about....big tests at the pointy end of the season. I think I'll have to get there early for a few calming pints beforehand.

I'll be surprised if Rafa doesn't still see Kuyt as his number one option on the right next season if we stick with the 4231.

    Dirk

I think we are most in need of an improvement on the left. I think that Dirk is key to how we line up, his combination of graft, energy and skill on the right will allow us to have a more "luxury" type player on the left. With Yossi in the squad we're well covered on the right.

    That statement makes no sense.
  17. If Liverpool score against Arsenal tonight, what will Rafa Benitez do? The Liverpool boss knows all eyes will be on him following his “gesture of contempt and arrogance” against Blackburn, last weekend. It matters little that this “gesture” was a) Barely noticeable to anyone B) Aimed towards the pitch not Sam Allardyce. C) Not noticed by Allardyce. D) Not mentioned whatsoever by Allardyce when he had a drink with Sammy Lee after the game. E) Prompted by Liverpool’s successfully improvised free kick routine, and therefore a million times more likely to be a “what do I know?” type move - the total opposite of arrogance. That certainly won’t matter to Sky Sports, who have probably lined up a body-language expert and a heat-tracking device (Conceitometer?) to detect signs of rampant haughtiness in Benitez’s touchline ticks. The whole nonsense reached its apogee last week when Allardyce came out with the season’s most ridiculous quote: “The gesture typifies the man.” Because even if Benitez did do a “that’s it, game over, you’re finished” move, that would be monumentally untypical of him. Benitez never thinks the game is over. He doesn’t trust his team as far as he can throw them. He is never satisfied, never praises his players, and is forever on their case. He doesn’t trust in talent, and would be the least likely manager ever to put his feet up, Mourinho-style, and start high-fiving his assistants with five minutes to go. But the Bung also wonders when arrogance became such a crime among football managers? Self-effacing navel-gazers do not win titles. You’d better have a Kop-sized ego if you stand a chance against rivals like Fergie and owners like Tom Hicks. So if Liverpool score tonight, let’s hope Benitez does a Wenger-like wiggle onto the pitch, then a Mourinho-esque sprint down the touchline, followed by a Fergie-favoured two-fingered salute at the opposition fans. Why not? This badge of arrogance has already been pinned to Benitez’s chest. He won’t shift it, so he may as well enjoy it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-spotlight.html

  20. Nah, it was all to do with the pitch apparently. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nal/8006546.stm
